Is the warranty good on the Farouk chi flat irons?

NO!! After talking to Farouk about the two flat irons I have both having issues I was flabbergasted when they told me that " Their products are not to be sold on the internet and if purchased that way it voids the warranty!" I don't know how they can do that legally but it is even written on the insert in the box. One that I purchased had the plug plastic shatter exposing the wires. The other just stopped working and they would not cover either. I certainly got an education in this matter. The model GF1001 if made in the USA is a counterfeit if made in China it is authentic. I initially purchased two and just found out one is authentic and the other is not. I ordered a new one to replace the one that had the problem with the plug and the nNoteew one is counterfeit. It's hit or miss but no matter what even if it is authentic they WILL NOT warranty it. I am actually researching the legal aspect of not warranting it if purchased on line. The state of CA has very rigid consumer laws and I have a hunch they are violating them. Good Luck! ***they all say "USA" on the outside of the box

Can anyone tell me how hot this gets and is there a temperature control?

The iron gets hot, however in reading the box, the writing on the product and instruction booklet...no temperature is listed on anything.

Mine worked great, but don’t turn it up to full heat- the conversion causes it to be hotter than the temp settings marked. I usually use the full 410 degrees; I had it at about 300 in Europe witha converter.

Im getting super bad static when i use this straightener. Anyone else? If so, what helps that?

Reliable Replacement That Gets the Job Done

My previous straightener was also a CHI and lasted me a solid six years. But after traveling with it, I came home to find it simply wouldn’t turn on anymore. So when I found this CHI Original Ceramic Flat Iron available on Amazon for just $49.48 and with fast shipping, I went ahead and ordered it. Since using it, my hair feels soft and smooth, it’s a solid replacement for the salon quality straightener I paid three times as much for years ago. It heats up extremely fast, what CHI calls “flash‑quick heating” and is 392°F. The only downside is there’s no temperature control, you only get an on/off switch so you can’t dial it down for lower heat. But honestly, for the price and performance, it works great!

THE BEST HAIR STRAIGHTENER!

I used a cheap hot hair straightener and after 30 still wasn't straight! I used my sister's and 7 minutes it was done! I took a picture of it and looked it up and bought this one immediately! Now this one gets HOT and does the job in minutes! So easy to use, it's pretty light weight, and straighten my hair with ease! Excellent product, I love it and highly recommend it!! It's worth the price!!

I ended up making two purchases of this iron each lasted for a year then just stopped heating but loved how it curled my hair and the fact that it was light weight and easy to use i would definitely recommend it if you have short hair

This works okay, but I'm disappointed that the temperature can't be controlled. It seems to do the trick, but I'll opt for a different one next time.

Great product, heats quick, soft results

Great product for a great price. It was delivered quickly, heats up fast. I have thick hair and it would normally take an hour to straighten but I was able to complete my hair in about 20 mins with this. My hair is so soft after using it and it’s very easy to use! I would definitely recommend for anyone looking to add a styling tool to your list, this was perfect!

Easy to use and built to last!

I was looking for a new straightener -- simple, compact, and easy to use. It heats up quickly and glides like butter making my hair smooth and shiny. My hair straightens easily, but I have also used this to curl my hair and it holds nicely! It does NOT have a temperature dial- which isn't a problem for me as I usually keep it at the same setting, but something to consider if you prefer to be able to adjust. The on/off switch is on the inside which is nice as I've used some before that are on the outside and have accidentally turned it on/off before, but not a problem with this one! It's high quality, sturdy, travel-friendly, and feels like it'll last me a long time!

Love this, except for....

I love, love, love how this product straightens my curly/wavy thick hair. It is the best flat iron I have ever used. However, I do NOT like the cord. It's long enough, which is a plus, but it's too stiff and difficult to wrap up before storing. It's like wrestling an alligator to get the long, stiff cord wrapped up to store between uses. I wish I could give it 4 1/2 stars, but that is not an option.
