Phottix59" Raja Quick-Folding Softbox

I like to have the option of a large light modifier, and this definitely fits the bill. Its large, but folded and in its case you can fit inside the back seat of most cars. Deployment is easy, just make sure its securely latched before you attach it to a strobe. The smaller Rajas can move a rolling C-Stand if it snaps closed (user error), so I wouldn't want to see what this one would do! The biggest problem I can see in deploying these is if you are in an area with low ceilings, but that can be said of any lighting setup. Unfortunately I did get a chance to test out the customer service at Phottix, the wire they use to secure the rods to the center hub was discovered to be broken on my first one (but it still worked!), and they sent out a replacement in short order. Its good to know they are standing behind their products, the Raja line has been great, I cant remember the last time I did a shoot where I didn't use at least one. They are holding up and helping me make some great images!

Great Soft box. Large area of light, sturdy, and well made. Double diffusion helps to soften light even more. It's difficult to open if you have the diffusion panels attached, it's possible, but hard. Something to keep in mind...I use this on an overheard boom, and due to its heavy weight it's hard to angle it as it tends to be too heavy for the tightening joints on the boom, and it ends up turning back down. I really have to crank it down to stay in place. Overall, this is a great deal for what you are getting. I have a smaller boxes of a similar make, exactly like this, they cost much more. I would deff buy again.

Sets up in like 30 seconds. Super easy to use and very portable. Gives great light and has significantly improved the quality of my photos. Just be sure to use a quality strobe with it.

This is one of my favorite softboxes. Easy to set up and use. Definitely worth the price. Highly recommended using weights along with this beast. Beautiful light.

I was really hesitant to buy a softbox this huge for my small studio, but I’m so happy I did! It’s really well built and lightweight (considering how big it is!) but what I’m really happy about is it’s shallow depth. It’s about two feet in depth and takes up less room than my backdrop tripods! I have it on an S2 bracket by Godox on a really dinky tripod and I’m using an ad300 inside to light it up. Also, it collapses quickly and compactly to hang up inside a coat closet! I plan to use this for a pure white background for 3/4 shots and like a huge window light for baby sessions. I will be buying a set of the Raja 3x4 Softboxes soon to complete my little studio!

The packaging of the product is demanding. Assembly is easy and fast. Its gloss is even and soft enough. The use of materials is quality. Great for portrait photography.
