Cute, but not very deep
This is a sweet, cartoonishly illustrated book that emphasizes for toddlers that Jesus hears them when they pray. My daughter likes it, but I find it pretty shallow. Why do we pray? What do we pray about? How should we pray? Hopefully you already feel well equipped to have these conversations with your child, because the book isn’t going to help you much. I think the biggest conversation starter for my two-year-old has been Jesus depicted clearly on the cross, as her story Bibles both tone down the images and this has made it clear to her that Jesus was hurt and died. She also seems to find the other children praying relatable, but we haven’t had any big breakthroughs on understanding prayer more deeply due to this book. It does point out that Jesus hears us when things are good or bad and is explicit about the truth that Jesus died for our sins, but that feels like it’s about it.

Nice content but poor quality binding
While this is a nice book to read to little ones, instead of a board book, this is actually paper pages with plastic spiral binding - it actually looks homemade, and not really worth the price. There was also minor damage to the front page on receipt.

cute book for toddlers
I bought this book for my grandson, who is shy of 2 years old. He likes the pictures and can easily turn the thick, cardboard type pages.

Love This Book
I bought this for my son when he was less than a year old, and we still read it regularly. It's quick & simple (good for little ones) with a beautiful message. I bought a copy for my niece last Christmas, and they love it, too. Sometimes it's hard to find religious books that are short enough for the youngest ones to sit through, but I've been very pleased with this one.

Sweet book about prayer; best for toddlers
The text of this book, written in simple rhyme, reminds children that Jesus hears our prayers wherever we are, no matter what we're doing. After explaining that Jesus hears us in the day, when we play, far away, in the month of May, etc., the book turns toward why Jesus hears us: because He loves us. the text explains "He died to take my sins away." The book concludes with a child thanking Jesus for loving us so much. What I Like: This book is small and sturdy, perfect for taking along in the diaper bag. The illustrations (except those of Jesus) are really cute! I like that it doesn't teach a memorized prayer, but rather teaches children that God loves us and wants to hear from us without undue pomp and circumstance. What I Dislike: The last few pages (those about Jesus dying for our sins) seem disconnected to the rest of the book. It feels like an abrupt change. Also, I don't like the illustrations of Jesus. There are two: one of Him on the cross and another of Him ascending in the clouds.Overall Rating: I'm on the fence between rating this "Good" and "Very Good." My kids (5 and almost 4)are at the top of the suggested age range, so this book didn't strike a loud chord with us. However, I think younger kids would really enjoy it. I recommend it for 3 and under.Tanya -- Christian Children's Book Review
