Reading labels is enlightening.
This bulb is fine for low light applications, and the output is no surprise as "90 Lumen" is right on the package. I use one in a small pendant over the kitchen sink as supplemental illumination. It stays on 24/7 as a nightlight as well.If you were expecting this to replace a 40 watt halogen, you need to ask yourself why you a) are bad at math, b) don't read labels or c) can't be bothered to figure out how much light you need before buying a bulb. To be fair, it's too dim for a reading lamp. I don't know why IKEA doesn't stock something brighter. In fact, most other 2 watt G9 LED bulbs are 120 lumen.

Only good for a night light, NOT a desk lamp
I just purchased this bulb "at" Ikea for six.ninetynine. -- don't know what is going on with this price. This was a replacement bulb for a desk lamp. HOWEVER, it is worthless, unless you are looking for a night light. The only reason I purchased this bulb was that the desk-lamp manufacturer recommended this bulb (why-why-why) as a replacement for use in their lamp (even though the original bulb in the lamp, that burned out on me after several years of use, was a 40-watt halogen). My monitor puts out more light than this bulb. Depending on where the bulb is used, it might be OK -- but not for a desk lamp -- buy a 20 or 40 watt halogen.
