Very sturdy and very tall
So this product didn’t end up working for us for what we needed it for. We bought it for gutter cleaning from the ground and hoped it would work but we have old gutters that we secured to the house with very long “nails” every 12 inches so it was just not going to work. BUT, it is super sturdy, very heavy- in a good way- the top is very heavy metal and we didn’t return it bc we suspect it will come in handy for other things.

Good for so many uses
I'm a lousy throw. so getting a rope up into a tree to guide it down or to tie off a branch used to be a challenge, but no more. With a long pole and this tool I can safely and easily get the job done. Saves my shoulder too!

Versatile but finicky
I primarily use this for putting up christmas lights. I was extremely pleased with it for the first hour until the plastic attachment that holds the hook to the body broke in half. Then I had to wrap some masking tape around the threads to make them fit the hook by itself, but whatever, it was still going mostly fine. Then I noticed that as I would try to push the light strings up, the pole was collapsing, even though I had locked it in. Well the plastic housing for the lever, as it turns out, has a tendency to become loose with use, so I keep a screw driver close to re tighten that housing. It's SO CLOSE to being a perfect product, too. It's otherwise very easy to use and very light weight, which is important considering I use it to work 25 feet above my head. Having good control at those distances is great, and it's not a huge strain on my back. If they improve whatever plastic they use to make the attachment from, I'd give it 100%... Right now I'd say it's about 90% as good as it could be, but also I don't know of another product on the market that does what it does, as easy as it does overall, so I'll stick with my masking tape and screw driver fixes.

Recommend
Have had the metal one for over 5 years. Purchased to install Christmas Lights, and to pull the occasional branch. While have not yet tried it on thick branches, it has gotten the job done. Very durable, able to place it on a standard pole easily. Good size, not too big, not too small. Not overly heavy, so can comfortably grip the pole and not worry about it making the pole top heavy.

Pleased!
After failing to find help cleaning the gutters on my new house that are too high to reach with the ladder I have, I got this pole with a hook. This was by far, the superior choice over dying from falling off the roof or ladder, paying more than twice as much as the pole for a one-time cleaning service, or just letting the gutters spill over. This fall, I have cleaned out the full gutters three times, and each time was glad I did because it rained shortly after and drainage was good each time. I used the pole to extend a bucket of water up to the gutter to test my work, too. I have also used the pole + hook (plus a creatively fashioned duct tape loop on the cap) to replace a missing end-cap on the 2nd storey gutter. Yes, the pole did initially have issues of spinning at the extensions, however tightening the screws on the extension locks worked well to stop that. Extending from the bottom before the top helps to keep the pole stable, as well. It was long enough for the whole operation only needing the bottom two extensions, it could've gotten much longer than I needed for two storeys. At one point, I used the pole to give the gutter end-cap a couple of good "whacks" -20 ft in the air- to tamp it down on the glue, and the cap bent a little but the pole was rugged as ever. I'm happy; it looks secure, my pole was none the worse for wear, and I stayed on the ground for the whole thing. And, it was lightweight enough, with nice cushioned grips, that this out of shape 40 something arthritic woman was the one to do all of the above. I was surprised that the pole came with an unexpected, free duster attachment, thanks! I'm also looking forward to getting the bulb-replace attachment for a 2nd storey flood light, as well, and to seeing all the potentials with my pole - maybe I'll fish for garbage down the ravine off my property...

Flimsy and doesn't stay locked in extended positions
After researching the Docapole and Eversprout extenstion poles I could not decide which one to purchase, so I bought both, including the hooks associated with each. I figured one would be better than the other but simply could not ascertain online. My son and I used them to hang Christmas lights in tall trees in our yard. There is simply NO COMPARISON between these two products. When fully extended the Docapole is a lightweight cheap stick incapable of even holding up a string of Christmas lights. It would not stay extended even though it was "locked" - the "locks" are useless. It then bent within 3-5 times stringing lights (in about 15' of use). It then would not telescope back down all the way. I returned it, but had to take it to a packaging center since it would not telescope back in. A complete waste. Conversely, the Eversprout extension pole telescoped out and in easily, stays locked in position and is sturdy when fully extended. Furthermore, it's about $10 cheaper. Don't waste your time with Docapole. On a final note, I found the hooks for each to be very similar, but I used the Eversprout for hours (since the pole was much sturdier) whereas I only used the docapole hook for about 15'

Well built, but design could be better.
This is a well built, robust tool. It has some heft, and I anticipate it will last for a long time - decades at least. I love that it has a set screw to hold it in place so it won't rotate unintentionally. There is one design feature it is lacking. Both of the "horns" point inward. When trying to "spear" a hook hanging from the second floor overhang, it is hard to stab the hook. One side of this tool should have the outside horn, bent outwards to make it easier to insert into a hook, and then remove the tool afterwards. I found it very frustrating to unhook the tool when hanging, and the same when trying to spear the hook to take it down. If not for that design flaw, I would have given this 5 stars. In my opinion, for what it is, and with the flaw, it is also a bit overpriced for what you get.

Useful for many out of reach jobs. No ladders needed.

We have high trees at the back of the garden and wanted a pole to put feeders on the branches. This pole and hook are perfect and extend far enough to reach lots of higher up branches.
