Wonderful Purchase
This is my 2nd time using this chick brooder (I have the small one) with no problems. We have 6 chicks this time around and they have plenty of room. I plugged it in 24 hours before the chicks arrived so it was nice and warm. I’m in Louisiana and it is 55-60° at night, and 65-70° during the day right now (early Spring). I have the chicks on the back porch away from drafts, in a brooder box, with this brooder warmer in with them. I keep the box covered with a blanket at night. They are 6 days old and all doing great! I will keep the warmer at the lowest height for another week, then raise it up a level every week to 10 days so they can gradually get used to the outside temps. It is very easy to assemble - it snaps together. Very easy to clean. I spray it off with a hose when it gets nasty, then clean with Lysol and let it completely dry before putting it back with the chicks. Highly recommend this product!

My chicks are warm and safe!
I used a heat lamp in the past and I decided to try a brooder plate this time with my chicks. I'm very happy with my purchase. My chicks are very warm and happy! It was easy to setup and the adjustable sides make it easy to use as the chicks get bigger. No wearing about fires from a heat lamp, or a bulb breaking and causing injury to the chicks. I highly recommend this brooder plate if you're in the market. Just a quick update, this is a "small" brooder plate, I don't recommend it for the amount of chicks it is supposed to keep warm, 15 is a lot for this size. I have 8 and it looks full to capacity at this number.

Safe and sound!
I used a heat lamp right when I brought the chicks home, just to get them warmed back up, but then the first night I put the brooder plate in and they loved it. They immediately got under and snuggled in. The temp is not going to be the same as using a heat lamp, and it’s okay that it isn’t. The babies put their backs against it and the heat transfers to them like a mother hen would do, just makes sure it’s on the lowest height so they can touch it. It’s easy to assemble, easy to clean, and I don’t have to be scared to go to bed at night worrying about a heat lamp fire. Bought the large and 21 chicks fit just fine.

Great for smaller brooders
Perfect for a few baby chicks. I was looking for a smaller heat plate to use for 4 or 5 chicks and this one was very easy to put together and use. It does not let you choose the temperature but the babies loved it. Definitely a great purchase.

Perfect for beginners/backyard flocks and good enough for some peace of mind
Gave me peace of mind after a friend had a bulb fall in the brooder and incinerate the whole thing. Doesn't get up to 95°, my point and click thermometer reads it at a steady 75° on the second highest position, give or take a few degrees. No temp control but there is fate red light you cam see from the top to make sure it's on at all times. The slant feature is nice for the real little guys and the first week, the chicks slept in a little dog pile under it. By week 2, the australorps and leghorns were hopping up on it but my isa browns haven't yet. They spend a good bit of time under it but do come out so they seem to be warm enough even if not the textbook 95 degrees. I would use again without a doubt but if I had more than 6 or so chicks, or was going to be doing continuous hatching, I would buy another one or construct a more solid base for a lamp and go that route. Excellent for beginners and starting a flock.

Safe, Adjustable, and Chick-Approved: The Perfect Brooder Plate!
The K&H Pet Products Thermo Chicken Brooder is an excellent choice for safely and effectively keeping chicks warm. I’ve been really impressed with how well it works and how thoughtfully designed it is. One of the standout features of this brooder plate is its safety. It provides consistent warmth without overheating, giving me peace of mind knowing that my chicks are cozy and safe. Unlike some other brooder plates I’ve tried, this one doesn’t get excessively hot, making it perfect even for the youngest and most delicate chicks. Another big plus is how easy it is to adjust. Whether I’m accommodating chicks of different sizes or tweaking the height as they grow, the process is super simple and hassle-free. This level of convenience makes a big difference during those busy brooder days! Handling and cleaning are also effortless. The design is user-friendly, making setup and adjustments quick and frustration-free. Cleaning is equally straightforward—the materials are easy to wipe down, which is so important when dealing with messy little chicks! Best of all, my chicks are very happy under this brooder plate. It’s clear they feel comfortable and secure, which makes this product an even better investment. Overall, this brooder plate strikes a great balance between functionality, safety, and ease of use. It’s durable, reliable, and perfect for any brooder setup. I highly recommend it to anyone raising chicks!

This has worked perfectly for my baby quail chicks!
This is my first time hatching any kind of eggs, so I've had to rely on a lot of research and searching online to know what I'm doing. I'm so glad I found a video recommending this specific brooder plate! Staying warm means life or death for baby chicks when you first bring them out of the incubator and into the brooder, so it's so important to have something that works well for them. This brooder plate has been just what my adorable baby quail chicks need! They just love snuggling under it, and the lowest level is just perfect for them when they are this tiny. These pictures are from the first day using it, and you can see how quickly they caught on. It has been so much less stressful than using a heat lamp and trying to adjust temperatures and fool with thermometers, etc. With this heat plate, they decide if they need to be warmer or cooler and move to the area under the plate that feels best to them. They also feel safe and protected being under it more like they would feel cuddling under a mother hen to stay warm. I highly recommend for anyone hatching eggs! Your babies will love it.

Easy to clean, consistent heat, no bright lights
This brooder is amazing! It cleans well and works perfectly! We even have it set up with a solar panel and have consistent heat. As the ducks and chickens grew we could easily and quickly adjust for height. Not having a light constantly on has also allowed our birds to be calmer and learn Day vs. Night. They are also not as stressed as I’ve had others when light was the only option. I am excited to see how many years I get out of this product but with a two year warranty offered by K&H I’m assured we will no issues.

Excellent - Used for Quail Chicks and Worked Great!
Have used now for two groups of quail chicks and it works well. I got the bigger sized one and it’s quite large. I used it for my first group of quail chicks until they were about 3 weeks old and they didn’t need it anymore **they are inside and in our main living area so it’s warm and quail feather out quicker than chickens so don’t take that timeline as your own, watch them and take cues for if they are too hot or not**. The smaller size would have been fine for the smaller scale hobby farm I have. We had 12 quail under it and it was honestly too big (better than too small)! I currently have 17 chicken chicks and it would work perfect for them as well but I have more quail again so using it for them instead because quail love to fly around and jump which makes the heat lamps more dangerous for them. Quick Points: - It’s not too hot, the temperature is basically perfect! - The legs work well but you can only have it slanted (so lower on the back end and higher on the front) on the highest level so for the smaller chicks like quail it was a little disappointing at the very beginning but it was still fine. - The cord is strong and thick, so good and durable. - It is SO easy to clean! Just wipe it down and done! Nothing sticks to it.

Successfully raised chicks
Successfully raised 3 little chicks (see photo, they're all grown up now!) with this, and are currently raising 6 more with it. They quite like it - if they're cold they go under, but if it's too warm they'll stay out. We don't have to worry about this starting a fire or cooking them. Super easy to use, all you have to do is plug it in! The chick poop really sticks to it good though, I think it gets slightly cooked on...but it's plastic, so not the hardest thing to clean by any means!

Sturdy, weather resistant.
It's a good sturdy, small brooder plate with several options to adjust the height. The legs are a very study plastic and the whole thing is quite weather resistant, I haven't dunked it in water so I am hesitant to call it water proof but I honestly wouldn't be surprised if it was. Thanks to its hard plastic construction, I've no need to worry about rust or sharp bits. It's super easy to clean and set up, and very light weight as well so I never worry about accidental tipping causing any injuries. That being said, it's really stable, even at the tallest setting, I've yet to have tipping issues. Would love some options to set temperatures but the heights do that to a degree so I can't complain much. Pretty good value for the price paid so I'd say I'm happy with the purchase.
