Nikon Coolpix S60 10MP Digital Camera with 5x Optical Vibration Reduction (VR) Zoom (Crimson Red)

Nikon Coolpix is a great product, but it will be a very long time before I order electronics via Amazon. And I will never order electronics with Amazon when there is any time sensitivity. The product itself is great. My son can't get enough of it. Takes it wherever he goes and my entire family loves the extraordinary clarity of the pictures. Every photos is crisp, clean, sharp. There really isn't anything to think about. If you want one, get one. If you order it here, buyer beware. My son saved his money and I ordered the Nikon Coolpix S60 from Amazon because it was a good price compared to in-store. He wanted it for all the graduation events coming up for him and thought to save a bit of money. He has regretted it ever since. So have I. When the expected delivery date came and went, he was disappointed. I explained that things happen. I understood, but he had to understand, too, that the expected delivery date was not a guaranteed delivery date. Ok, so he missed one event with his friends: there were many others. Ten days later, having now missed several events, I called Amazon customer service and was assured it would arrive the next day. It didn't. He (and I) missed another irreproducible graduation event. When it didn't arrive as promised, I called customer service a second time. This time I was promised it would arrive next day before noon. It didn't. In fairness, it came that day, but around 6pm. The camera is great. Get it--elsewhere. My complaint is with Amazon. The delivery system needs an overhaul. Customer service was horrendous. When the camera did finally arrive two weeks after the expected delivery date, there was no explanation, no "all out recovery." Sure, they paid over-night shipping, but it wasn't over-night: it was 14 days late! Caveat Emptor.

I am happy with the research that I did for this camera. It has all the functions that I need and has resolved a lot of issues associated with picture taking for me. The camera has virtually eliminated blurred, red eyed, eyes closed, no exposure pictures. The large screen on the back lends to the correct positioning of the subject you are shooting. The touch screen makes it easier to select how you want to shoot and review what you have shot. After going through several cameras that have fallen short of the features that this camera has, I think this is a keeper. It is really easy for my wife to use also. In fact, it is hard to get it away from her.

Just came in the mail today, Opened it up and started clicking away! Its a little tricky at first with the different "Scene settings". if you take a picture up close, without the "Portrait" setting on it can become blurry and look like absolute crap! Easily can be fixed though when you place it to "Auto Scene Setting" which detects the atmosphere and automatically adjusts to the picture....Which doesnt always work so great. Cool diffrent features in scene mode , such as fireworks, food and party/indoor. Tested it out on the food, but i had to adjust the settings to the flash to get the picture i really wanted.Its alot of adjusting you have to do before you can take a picture.So if your the type of perosn who just turns it on and clicks away , this probably isint the camera for you. On the contrary, If your a lil Tech savvy and want each picture to demonstrate its best attributes and quality, then this is just what you want. Browsing the menu is very easy and explains almost every feature designated by the "?" symbol, so not much reading of the manuel to get the point of the features. So far the pictures I have taken, are absolutely beautiful and when zoomed in, are CRYSTAL CLEAR.The holidays are coming up so ill be taking plenty pictures and post my reveiw on the diffrent scene settings!

I don't understand the bad reviews that this camera has gotten. To me it is like my iPhone, intuative and easy to use! Takes great pictures too! My only disapointment is that a premium priced Point & Shoot camera like the S60 Nikon Coolpix S60 10MP Digital Camera with 5x Optical Vibration Reduction (VR) Zoom (Burgundy) should not have been shipped without a SDHD memory card (even if only limited capacity!). Make sure you buy this camera AND a SDHD card at the same time, without the card you will have only 9 or 10 photos before you must delete or download to your computer.

It was a gift

I ordered this Nikon S60. It was clearly said on the item description that the item is brand new. I received the product and is damaged. The picture was blur, eventhough I set it as automatic. I know what the picture resolution should be, specially for 10 MP! It made horrible pictures, even a disposable camera would make better pictures! I was so disapointed by this, I really like the camera feature, I love the touch screen, it's my dream pocket camera. So I had to return it, and thank's God, they gave me a refund, but then I have to search for the camera again that fit me and not broken one. I was so dissapointed that a big company like Amazon could make a big mistake like this. I will not buy anything anymore from this company. I had a coolpix before & the quality was nice. My phone takes great pics & I can upload & back up with ease. This isnt as great as I thought it was. I was fine without this camera & I havent used it in months. So the product isnt bad per se, but I have a more efficent way of taking pictures and this is an obsolete device in my home.
