Wonderful map
It has detailed information beyond what you find on the Denali National Park site. Highly recommend it!

Useful... just not so much for backcountry hiking
This map's essential problem is that it covers all of Denali National Park and Preserve, which is a vast area. Only a tiny fraction of visitors, in a park that attracts seasoned outdoorsfolk, will ever get near most places shown on the map. For instance, the entire back side covers roadless areas west of Denali that are accessible only by bush plane. The huge territory forces the map to use a huge scale (1 : 225,000, or in human terms, 1 inch = 3.6 miles), which is only more problematic when you realize that the park has almost no trails and your whole day's cross-country route will only cover an inch or two. Long story short, this map is marginally useless even for planning your route. If you want to do your homework, buy the USGS quads for whatever region you want. Alternatively, just go to the backcountry information center inside the park, look at the map there, and talk to the rangers. So why three stars and not fewer?1) This is the best overall map to just understand the geography of Denali and carry with you on the park bus. You'll even put it to good use just driving up and down the Parks Highway.2) It shows the backcountry zones, which some visitors will find helpful.3) We used this map to hike K'esugi Ridge in Denali STATE park. (I accidentally left our custom USGS topo behind, so this was all we had.) The level of detail was adequate to follow the well-marked trail from Coal Creek south to Ermine Hill, although I DO NOT RECOMMEND it as a sole resource.

Be aware: Disney ownership, copyright dates may not be revision dates
Trails Illustrated maps are no longer published by the National Geographic Society. Rather they are published by a business corporation named "National Geographic Partners", which is 73% owned by The Walt Disney Company. Many of the maps have been reprinted with a 2019 copyright date, including this title, but the cartographic data may not have been updated. I collect maps extensively and own dozens of Trails Illustrated maps, and I have found several titles that were reprinted with a new copyright date, but only minor revisions in the text. It seems that Amazon has caught on to this, and is listing the actual revision date.I compared 2 editions of this map: the first was copyrighted in 1990, "Revised 2007"; and the second was "Copyright 2019". I could not find a single change in the cartographic data. There were only minor changes in the text, none of it related to information about the area covered by the map.The ISBN cannot be relied on to distinguish editions for maps and atlases, as publishers will often retain the same ISBN even when publishing updated editions.

Great map
I love the tear proof and water resistant maps, great detail & lists all the camp grounds, ranger stations & points of interest along the park road. I am a park ranger and will be stationed at Denali national park this summer, theis map will go with me the entire 5 months.

Not the Best for Backpacking
This map really doesn't provide the level of detail one would desire when trekking through a largely trail-less park. However, on a positive note, this map does include the unit boundaries so it is helpful in understanding where the units are relative to the park road, or any other desired point of reference for trip planning. It also may have been a little wishful on my part for a highly detailed map by unit for a national park the size of Massachusetts. But on a side note, if one is taking the park bus (versus flying to a remote location), then there are really only two directions to consider - heading north from the road or south from the road so getting back to the road and catching a bus doesn't take a great sense of direction. Hope this helps!

Must Have
If you plan to visit Denali National Park and get off the bus and do a little hiking, this map is a must have. It's easy to read and durable. More importantly, it sells out almost immediately within the park. Buy it before you go.

Great Map. Came highly recommended by our guide book. Should technically have a topo map to keep with this as well.

Don't bother, get the specific map you need once you're there!
if you think you need this you're likely headed to the backcountry, which means you'll have to visit the Backcountry Information Center and let them know of your plans - while you're there they'll sell you a larger scale map of the unit(s) you're visiting to for $8 each... considering you'll only be visiting a couple of units and the scale is much clearer, you're much better off doing that than buying this,
