Great resource, but surprising poor quality publication!
Practically speaking, this is a wonderful book, and I think some of what I learned from it will help my students. However, I have never seen a more poorly edited manuscript! The book is full of grammatical errors. I am actually shocked that it made it to publication in this condition. I am not a professional editor, and I could have done a much better job of preparing this book for final publication. That's the reason I give it 4 rather than 5 stars. Despite the errors, it is still readable and full of practical advice to help struggling learners, particularly those with auditory processing difficulties.

New approaches, easy to relate to!!
This book is packed with ideas and examples. If you have struggling kids or are a teacher this book might just open your eyes. Personal stories and examples shed light on what it feels like to live with auditory processing disorders and similar learning disabilities. I found this book to be a bit personal at first, but then realized that the author shows both her credibility and humanity by sharing her experiences with auditory processing disorders. This book helped me better understand a child in my life. There are lots of exercises and ideas which offer hope to people of all ages to cope with and manage the disabilities. As a high school at-risk educator I have seen many students that probably had undiagnosed auditory or visual processing disorders. If you have a hard-to-diagnose child or student, get this book and read it.

Great read
Very informative book! Would highly recommend to parents and professionals working with individuals with processing difficulties. Activities are very well thought out.

Needs an editor
I really wanted this book to be helpful but there are too many stumbling blocks involved in reading it for the content to be useful. it needs an editor. There are many typos, mis-spelled words (loose for lose et.), even incorrect information about the location of parts of the brain. The graphics are placed in a confusing way and it is hard to tell to which section they relate. The old fashioned spacing of two spaces after a period also made it difficult to follow, especially because they were inconsistent. For a book about those with brains that learn differently, this book was very difficult for my brain to follow. A professional editor might be able to help make it more useful. I gave up halfway through because it was too frustrating and irritating. I love the title an applaud the author for sharing her experience. Hope another revision might help.

Such a great explanation of this condition that is not readily considered ...
Such a great explanation of this condition that is not readily considered when diagnosing behaviour and school difficulties. As a parent of a child with APD this was very eye opening, and with suggestions on how to help with the different aspects it affects, is just wonderful. I would highly recommend his book.
