5 WEEK OLD BLUEBERRIES
I felt compelled to write this review after successfully just eating 5 week old blueberries. Yes, thatโs right, 5 week old blueberries. I was on a recent health kick where I bought a ton of fruits and chia and making chia pudding breakfasts- which, of course, lasted about a week. That was six weeks ago. My second week I bought all my fruit, rinsed them, and put 2 containers of blueberries in my berry keeper. 3 weeks go by and Iโm like ick I am not looking forward to cleaning THAT out. So I put it off two more weeks, because Iโm 25 and I let things rot in my fridge. Well howdy do da. Today I open the container and the berries were not moldy. Not mushy. They were firm. I was confused but I ate one cautiously. Well it was delicious so I ate a handful and put the rest back in my fridge. I donโt know what kind of sorcery is contained in this product but if it keeps blueberries for 5 weeks sign me up for ten more. Can I keep motivation in there ? That is my blueberry story. I hope you enjoyed it and I hope you buy this product. I will now tell you relevant details that you probably want to know that have nothing to do with 5 week old blue berries. Yes, as other viewers have commented, it is small. I opened the package when it first arrived and was like well WTF am I supposed to fit in there ??? Do not let its size fool you. I can fit 2 containers of blueberries in comfortably and if I really organize them and get rid of dead spaces I can fit 2.5. Blackberries, depending on size, you can fit between 1-2 containers. Raspberries probably 1.5. I bought two- so thatโs like at least 4 containers of fruit... Iโm one person and if I have more Fruit that that in my fridge at one time then I must be a Fruit bat and only surviving on berries. The shelf is nice but unnecessary if youโre packing in tons of blueberries. For its price, if this helps you finish like two containers of berries before they rot, it pays for itself in savings of wasted food. Just buy the dang thing.

Berry Good, but A Little Small
This is such a clever little gizmo. With most berries costing a fortune, opening the fridge to find they've grown green fuzz overnight is upsetting. But there are only so many berries even I can eat at once, and until now, wasting half the container was frustrating but inevitable. This is so easy to use: You stack your berries in two layers, so they are not pressing down on one another making themselves go soft, you open the little vent (it's marked "Berries/Cherries" and "Citrus/Grapes, so there is no confusion on which way to turn the marker) and even strawberries stay fresh and fuzz-free for about four or five days. The one drawback is the size. You can't fit in any large berries, and most baskets have at least two or three of those monsters. It will hold smaller berries very well, but even medium sized ones get crushed when you put on the lid. Ideally the berry keeper could be at least another inch or so higher. Of course, you can always gobble up the ones that don't fit while you're putting away the groceries, but that would be cheating. Or just serve them that day. With brown sugar and sour cream...if you haven't tried this, you are missing one of the best things in life. The container also says "Citrus/Grapes." Hello? Who buys 20 grapes at a time? They usually come in 1 lb bags at the market. And how do you choose which ones to save and which ones will just have to survive any way they can in the refrigerator. Do I need that kind of pressure? Cherries don't make a lot of sense either, since they're sold by the pound too. And citrus? You can't even squeeze one of those giant Steriod Strawberries into the berry keeper, let alone a lemon or lime, and they last forever anyway. If the manufacturer is referring to kumquats, I guess they'd fit, so maybe this is a big life-changing brekthrough for kumquat eaters. But personally, I don't know any. The Berry Keeper is really good for storing berries and not much else. Which is still pretty good...check out the price of raspberries at the market lately? Losing half the tiny basket you shelled out three to six bucks for hurts. Now if somebody would only invent a strawberry that tastes like a strawberry, we'd be all set.

Loved the product but the base tore after using it 3 times - company replaced the base so now all is well
I'm a big fan of this, as well as the larger lettuce keeper. It really does keep things fresher longer. BUT....just 3 months later after having used and washed this (top shelf dishwasher only) 3 times, the lip on the green base has torn. I believe that the probable cause is that the base fits snugly; or rather, too snugly, on the unit. Unfortunately, it is a fatal flaw as, for many items, it is necessary to put water in the base to keep things fresh. Obviously, if the base is torn, the water will leak out. So far, my lettuce keeper is fine as is the smallest one, the berry keeper. I find the berry keeper only useful for small left over amounts of things as it is only big enough for the smaller berries, like the little containers of blueberries. It will not hold a full container of strawberries. I have used this middle sized Keeper for the strawberries - but now I can't! I tried to find a place to ask Amazon for help with this but was unable to find it. It appears that, after the initial receipt of a product, the only recourse is to the company. So, I am going to contact the company and see if they're replace it. I'll update this review after I receive their response. Update: Progressive was very responsive and immediately sent out a replacement base. Now I can use my vegetable keeper again! I am changing my rating as the company was very helpful and a problem with one item is most likely just a one off. I'll leave it at four stars as I did have to go through the hassle of getting a replacement base. Nevertheless, all's well that ends well.

Great Lettuce Keeper!!
I wasn't sure I'd like this or that it would really work, but it's actually great. I buy romaine lettuce to use for lettuce wraps, and after washing and spinning dry the leaves, I can get quite a lot of them into this size container. You put about 1/4 c. water in the bottom part to provide the necessary humidity and moisture. I've found that the lettuce lasts considerably longer in this container than it did when I was keeping it in a plastic bag. In fact, I've left lettuce in it longer than I intended and nothing has yet gone bad or limp. I would buy a second one if I had room in my refrigerator, but I only have room for this smaller size. The top and bottom both come off without a fuss for washing. Very pleased....a product that does what it says it does!

Not only for berries, but for half cut vegetables. Too bad it's a bit small
Good points: Keeps berries above any drained water, which tends to rot them and make them mold over quickly. Pretty design Great shape--oval, flat sides, tucks well into the fridge. Adjustable opening to allow moisture to flow out of the bin Surprise: Great for avocado and those half cut vegetables. I can put a cut half of avocado in the lower compartment and it is covered by the plastic drain layer above (where you'd put your berries.) It keeps the avocado reasonably fresh. Meanwhile, I store cherry tomatoes in the upper half. So for salad components, this is pretty nice--that is, for small amounts of salad fixings--a half a pepper, a few tomatoes, half this and that. Actually, surprised me how well this worked out for those bits of veg you can lose when you wrap them in plastic wrap and lose them in the back of the fridge. For that alone, I like this keeper a lot. Bad Points: Very small. I was surprised. It is not much bigger than your hand (well, I have big hands, but still.) Holds barely a pint of blueberries. Strawberries? Forget it. Summary: Nice for expensive, tiny flats of raspberries, which do need TLC and cost a lot. They mold over so quickly and get squashed, this is a good investment if you buy fresh raspberries. Ok for blueberries, but I eat a lot of them and buy them a couple of pints at a time. Not big enough for strawberries. Either you need two or more or a different size keeper. Great for those half cut tomatoes, cherry tomatoes and avocados.

Works as advertised.
This container is perfect for one person. It holds about half of a standard grocery bag of spinach or grapes. If you have a family, order the larger size. But it keeps produce fresher longer.

Great for Lunches!
I love this little Berry keeper! Perfect size for husband's lunch. I wash the berries in water/vinegar bath. Dry them for about half hour on paper towels. Store them layered on paper towels in big container then use the berry keeper for lunches. Put delicate berries on top tier and the rest below.

Small but it worked, cute too
A little smaller than I thought yes even reading how big they are. Itโs still in my mind thought they were a little bigger than they are so everybody they are small. Iโm glad I bought two of them because I really needed to. That was good so Iโm good with them. Iโll give you an update in about a month. Yeah theyโre really cute and they they fit in my refrigerator beautifully so actually it turned out well that they are small. I donโt know if the price being on sale right now that I paid $8.99 itโs really a sale on them because theyโre so small but I did it so weโll see.

Five Stars
Keeps berries fresh for longer than just leaving them in the fridge in their original package!

This thing really works
Bought this hoping it would keep my strawberries fresh for longer, and it actually does work. I just wish it was a bit larger. They make a larger version, but it's meant for keeping salad greens. Definitely going to try that one out as well.

Keeps your berries fresh
Perfect for keeping small portions of berries. Just a note, they last longer if not washed.
