Great Purchase!!!
These bands are hefty, well made and look good on the posts since they show up as a substantial iron band. Putting the first one on was a bit of trial because my 8" post had already split, but the rest of them, (once I got the routine of only taking two of the side screw off completely and spinning out the other two, but not all the way) were very easy so be patient. I had splits in other posts and they went on with ease. I have reordered for the remaining 8 posts too.

Post band
Someone backed into our gate post, cracking it all the way to the bottom. It was concreted in the ground and we knew it would be easy to get back out. I found this on Amazon, we put some liquid nails glue in the crack and use this heavy duty post wrap and it works great. Very very strong, WELL WORTH THE MONEY...

Great looking band
I purchased two of these 6x6 bands just 2 weeks ago from Amazon. While I am not sure if they will prevent further "checking" (splitting) of the post, they do make nice accent pieces. I thought I would purchase two more for another post and found that Amazon had increased the price 50% in two weeks!!! Seriously Amazon? I paid $40 each two weeks ago and now they are $60? WTH? The manufacturers MSRP on their own website is still $40.49 - can you say price gouging Amazon? Not a good look for you guys. I was going to go without the additional two until I found them on HD website for $32.

Expensive
The media could not be loaded. We purchased 26 of these to protect our 8x8 cedar posts from splitting further. Rather expensive when we need to buy that many. We put two on each post. Weren’t many other options out there, so bought these in hopes of protecting our investment.

Nice product, but has limited stength (bolts shear too easily).
Bought 2 of these 6x6 post bands to evaluate for using in our log cabin that has exposed 6x6 posts that have some splitting going on. Product looks nice for a cabin. My only complaint is that the 1/4" x 20 bolts used to draw the 4 sides tight are too easily broken/sheared. As a woodworker, the moment I unpacked the first band, I thought "wow, those bolts look too skinny". The first band installed ok, and I tightened it pretty good, figuring I'd tighten it more over time as conditions permitted (e.g. humidity). On the 2nd band I installed, one of the 1/4" x 20 bolts sheared/broke. I was only using a 1/4" ratchet set, so I didn't think it would be too likely to break. So - don't plan on using these bands to close any splits. I think they are better suited on brand new posts to *prevent* splits - not to remedy existing splits... Since there doesn't seem to be any comparable products on the market, I will likely still buy more of these - but I'll buy some stronger/harder 1/4" x 20 (1.5" length) screws...

Expensive but heavy duty
Had a pressure treated fence post that was splitting bad. Put this clamp on easily and so sturdy I am sure it will hold
