Review: The soundtrack I've been waiting for. - "Predator" stands as one of my favorite alien films. Part of what makes that first film so great is Alan Silvestri's amazing score. It evokes the feeling of the South American jungle while also sending chills down your spine. For years I looked and looked for this little gem of a soundtrack to add to my collection. Finally, it's here. Now there have been a few earlier releases that somehow slipped by me. When I found this one, I wasn't going to let it go. We're presented with 20 tracks that pretty much covers nearly all of the cues from the film. What I really like is they're presented in the order Silvestri originally recorded them. A few cues will be out of place when compared to the finished film, but it does not take away from the enjoyment of having one of the greatest film scores. I am curious, though as to why the Fox Fanfare is the one used at the beginning of "Alien 3?" Why not used the version from, you know "Predator?" Anyway, that's neither here nor there. It's a great album and worth every penny if you love film scores. Its nestled happily on my shelf next to the "Predator 2" soundtrack. Review: One of Silvestri's best! - This classic Alan Silvestri score was one that soundtrack collectors had a hard time finding a few years ago. You would have to shell out some big bucks to obtain a copy because they went out of print and were very hard to find. Intrada records released a limited edition CD in 2011 with remastered sound and that too sold out quickly. This 2012 version is the latest version available and is essentially a re-release of the version before with minor alterations and a few unedited cues. Intrada records refers to this version of the soundtrack to be the "definitive, complete presentation score". If you've ever bought any soundtrack CDs from Intrada...then you know how much time and care they put into their releases. I'm a big fan of theirs because I've been able to find a lot of soundtracks that I once thought would be unobtainable. The score begins with the Fox Fanfare that was altered by Elliot Godenthal in 1992 for the Alien 3 movie. I guess they decided to use it again for the Predator movie because of "alien" similarities. There are a total of 20 tracks with a run time of 1 hour and 16 minutes. Silvestri's score sounds great and if you are a fan of the movie or Silvestri's work, your going to want this in your collection. Intrada has packaged this CD well with plenty of photo's and details about the movie, the score, and the making of this particular release. The 16 page booklet contains a wealth of information and fun facts that any fan can appreciate. This particular soundtrack is usually touted as being one of Alan Silvestri's best science fiction sores and there is no guarantee that this particular release will be around for long. There are some great cues in here that every time I listen to...it makes me want to watch the movie. In fact, I bought this CD in 2012 when it was released and I am writing this review 2014. I just happened to be listening to it today and admiring how great it was! I was glad to see that there are some copies left for people to pick up. There are some great cues on the album that will put you back into that jungle hunt with the predator stalking it's prey. One of my favorite cues is track 9, "He's My Friend". It is a solemn military piece that sounds like something you'd hear at a funeral. The main title is one of my favorites as well because it does a great job of setting up the whole score. It's blend of action and science fiction adventure provides great Predator nostalgia! You really can't go wrong with this score. It's packaged well and sounds great. Pick this one up before they disappear for years again!

Excellent.
For some time this soundtrack was impossible to get ahold of. I was surprised when I saw that it was again for sale and immediately made purchase. It is one of those 'rare' iconic soundtracks that is a true masterpiece, and, which stands on its own as a musical journey in itself. Easily one of my favorite movie soundtracks, right up there with Master and Commander, The Dark Knight, and The Lone Ranger...which are all, also, very very good.

Perfect Box Office Sound Track
Alan Silverstri's remastered Predator soundtrack is absolutely perfect. If you like these kind of great sci-fi, action films and Predator (why wouldn't you?), you will not be able to stop listening to this incredible music. When I saw that this was finally available again, I purchased it immediately to prevent it from being sold out. This would be a great bargain at even twice the price. Add this to your collection, you will not be disappointed, trust me. As Arnold would say if asked about this music "Stick around". I agree. Stick around and listen to powerful Aliens Above, Ghosts Below: Explorations of the Unkown music from a great movie.

Hey Billy!
No need to get to the choppah...just buy this amazing soundtrack and relive the single greatest mindless action movie of all time! From beginning to end, this score follows the action of the movie and for those who have seen the movie as many times as I have, you will know exactly what point in the film is referenced in each track on this album. If I had only one complaint, it would be that I would have loved to have some sound bites added into the score. Great album!

FANTASTIC!
This is one of THE BEST soundtracks ever made. This has pretty much been on repeat for me since I purchased it back in March 2021. The film has been a favorite since it was released so not sure why I didn't grab this score a long time ago. I'm a fan of John Williams and Jerry Goldsmith to name a couple but Alan Silvestri absolutely nailed it with this score. I highly recommend it.

Reprint/Rerealese
I purchased this version of the PREDATOR album as I couldn't find the original with out hurting my wallet. This soundtrack is a reprint/rerealese, and there is no negatives I can say about this soundtrack. This soundtrack has a total of 20 tracks at a total time of 76 minute, and 5 seconds. No background hum, no skipping, and all of the compositions are original. None are remakes with a slight change. If you are a fan of great compositions or a fan of PREDATOR. Pick this soundtrack up. It's excellent!

I saw this movie when it was first released back in the 80's. As soon as i saw it I wanted the soundtrack, but it was not available. I bought the Predator 2 spundtrack (this was similar to the original but with latin american percussion added)and I bought the Predators soundtrack 2010 and this had elements of the original too, which only fuelled my desire to own original. So happy to finally get my hands on it all these years later (only bought it last week) I feel like a kid on christmas morning. This has been palyed eveywhere i go, I absolutly love it! I am one of these people that want a soundtrack CD to play the music exactly as it appears in the film, and this CD does exactly that. If I couid have I would have given it six stars. A wee bit pricey for a single disk, but I have to say well worth it.
