Black and decker 200 hand held sander.
I bought this to sand my gate to then re oil. I thought it was great and easy to use but also the small attachments for the nooks and crannies. Read instruction on how to use correctly and had purchased plenty of Velcro pads to replace as need. However the finger attachment is a ok at first but as I stopped to check progress and re start the finger attachment plastic thingy on main part of sander bust in fact it ricocheted out and off from the machine.I liked it and thought it had many positives and great to use but obviously returned due to the attachment not fit for purpose. Would I buy again yes but possible look at something else that is meant for awkward places to reach.

Assembly instructions lack clarity
If the bolt holding the sanding plate isn’t very firmly tight , the washer wears through and the plate falls off in mid sand. You will need spare tip units as they wear out ( not the sanding paper , the Velcro tip)Other than that very effective tool . Expect your hands to continue “buzzing” after use for a while!

A very good sander.
I needed an edging sander after recently renovating floor boards after my Wickes palm sander gave up. I'd had black and decker tools before and was happy with them and this fell into my budget after it was reduced in price. This did not disappoint. I used the disc attachment to rough down as it seemed to do a quicker job of sanding with the lower grade papers due to the vibration and spinning disc. It's spins slowly due the the vibrations. Then I used the normal attachment which, can be positioned with the point at the front or back, to get into tight spots and corners with higher grades. I didn't use the small attachment.Did what I expected it to do fairly quickly but the cheaper bulk papers I bought off here seemed to lose their grip fairly quickly. Whether more expensive papers are any better, I couldn't say.Is noisy, but they all are, and it did do a decent job of collecting dust but as with any sander, non are perfect but it did do a better job than the Wickes sander I had. You still need to wear a face mask.Attachments are easily changed due to the supplied Allen key which stores in the unit but sometimes you need a screwdriver to hold the disc in place when changing due to it spinning.Overall, I'd recommend if it's for DIY jobs around the house.

Hard to handle ,unless you are young
You need the grip of a gorilla on steroids, it makes your hands go numb, the velcro on the round sanding disc doesn’t work you turn it on and it spins off when you turn the sander on, also the dust bag is useless, it kept setting my smoke alarms off,

Don't buy this product.
The sander only has one speed setting and is it very loud and very powerful. After 25mins of using this product I started to experiance a springing tingling feeling in my hand and fingers, the product came with a screw to attach the iron shaped pad but will not fit in the random orbital attachment as it is to big and will not tighten, the part that you screw into to tighten the pad has become loose and will not tighten. Its just keeps spining around. Seemed like great value for money as it looks heavy duty but it is not. Either get a better quality one or get a lower powered mouse detail sanders for the smaller areas. Awaiting refund from b&d warranty team

Generally good, one smallish design flaw
The media could not be loaded. I had a previous model. The main difference with this new model is that there is a small detachable part under the detail pad (call this pad A) pad A is diamond shaped. This is so an even thinner pointier detail pad can be put on call this pad B) pad B is boat shaped. OK so pad A is attached by a hook and loop (velcro) surface. Unfortunately it rapidly detaches when in use, the hook and loop is not strong enough to retain it. (see Video). If you use a sanding paper which is all one piece (no separate detail part at the apex) it is OK but such sheets are I believe only available from third party companies (not B and D), so that is one solustion. Actually the design is strange because pad B is permanently bonded to it's plastic carrier, unlike pad A (hook and loop. So another solution would be to glue pad A to it's plastic carrier instead of relying on the hook and loop surface. This would have the disadvantage that you could not order a replacement detail pad and just plonk it into place, maybe use a glue gun to fix it so it can be got off heat application? I have fed this back to B&D.Of course the unit also comes with a circular "random" orbital backing disk. Since my alternatives were all circular disks only (no detail backing disk) even with this slight problem with the B&D, it puts it ahead of the competition.Otherwise it is a great sander, works really well and is very convenient. Unlike the earlier model this one has no speed controller on the motor but I do not find that a problem really.

Sander
After the second time of use the diamond shaped tip became detached from the base. The velcro fastening is not sturdy enough. I am waiting for B&D to respond. To say I am disappointed after two uses is an understatement.
