I LOVE THESE PANTS--Amazing Value--Comfortable Fit
I LOVE THESE PANTS. They fit great and while the material is not heavy and thick; that's perfect as there is usually a lot of heat in certain areas of a kitchen. If you're doing prep you won't be cold and if you're working the stove and ovens you won't bathe in a river of your own perspiration. Black, as a color is perhaps going to feel hotter in Summer and early Fall months and so is ANY OTHER color if you're working outside events in direct sunlight or are assigned to outdoor grilling. Just wear white or some other light color if your environment is hot. Getting the proper size could be a bit tricky since the descriptions run S, M, L, XL, 2XL and so on, and no method is provided to translate this manufacturer's sizing into sizes you might be more comfortable with such as 34x31 or 32 Long. I'm a little bigger around the middle than I'd like and that's the price I pay for loving food and cooking. I usually order regular pants in 40x31 or 40x32 and wear Nike warm-ups in size XL. I ordered this pant in 2XL and they fit so well and have the room I like in a pant. I couldn't be happier. Even better, the pant inseam came in at 32" on my 2XLs, which is exactly correct for me. Before purchasing these pants I read another reviewer who wrote the pants are tight and not a good fit. It's easy to solve a problem with an order by returning them. Note my comment on Amazon's refund/return/exchange policy below. --------------------------------- PURCHASE SIZE: Since most all brands of men's pants run to the small side, especially in the waist and crotch, try going one size larger than normal. When they arrive if the pants don't fit to your liking, return them and go up or down a size. --------------------------------- AMAZON RETURNS: I've never had a problem with Amazon's refund process and now, with their instant credit you don't have to wait a long time for your refund. In fact you can take it as an Amazon credit which means you can repurchase a replacement without waiting for your bank to process a credit to your account. This is nice since you're not out twice the cost while you wait for your refund and your buying power is not diminished. Just be sure to print the return label and send the item back BEFORE the drop-dead date for the refund. SAVE YOUR PACKAGING--ALL OF IT--FOR YOUR OWN CONVENIENCE. --------------------------------- This pant is not the baggy, traditional chef's pant. That's not a reason to pass on this brand. For my tastes they look more stylish than really baggy pants. They are roomy enough in the waist and crotch and that makes them very comfortable. BAGGY/NOT BAGGY: If you must absolutely have traditional, baggy chef's pants this pant is not for you. --------------------------------- One reviewer noted the pants collect lint when washed. ALL black clothing collects lint of some sort when washed IF you don't wash them with other black, non-fuzzy materials. If lint is a problem, wash the pants as a single load or with another pair of these black pants. I will own more than one pair of these pants as I don't wear the same pair of pants for a full week in the kitchen. NOT A GREAT IDEA to wash these pants with light colored materials or any color towels as you will become a collection point for the excess lint in the Universe. After washing, dry them on low heat with a sheet of fabric softener. Before drying BE SURE to clean the lint filter on the dryer as that helps prevent lint on clothing when drying. If you still get some lint, buy one of those rollers they sell on Amazon, at dry cleaners or at any ACE Hardware. LINT: Learn to live with it; save it and take up felting as a hobby. Don't wash black anything with fuzzy clothes or lighter color stuff, especially towels. --------------------------------- PROS: --Great value for the money --Great fit and comfort --2 front and 1 back pockets --Elastic waistband --Nice long drawstring for tightening the fit at the waist if you choose --Easy care --Stylish look that looks great for short trips to the dining area --Black, in an otherwise sea of white, where you supervise others makes you easier to find quickly CONS: --Cost more than a pair of white from the same maker --------------------------------- I highly recommend you try a pair of these pants. If you can't wear black in your operation, buy them in white from this maker. ADDED 3/8/13 There is one thing to do when you get these pants. The nylon cord sewn into the waistband to adjust the fit is not finished well. They tie a knot in the ends to keep fraying to a minimum. When you wash them, the know will come undone and the cord will fray. This is true for all the pants in their line with this nylon cording. The SOLUTION is to take your hand-held torch or a long match and use the flame to melt the ends of the pull. This stops fraying once and for all. It's easy to do, doesn't catch fire, release hazardous fumes, and does stop fraying when washing. These are still a great buy.

Excellent quality and durable pants
I've been buying these Chef Works pants for the past few years. The material is thick, so it takes a long time before the thighs start to develop pilling. The pockets are deep, there's a drawstring on the inside of the pants, no zipper to worry about, and overall the pants are very comfortable and durable. I'll continue to repurchase and would highly recommend.

Baggy and thin
Pants are on the baggy side, material is thin, lasted a lot longer than. I expected used them for 2 years before I had to toss them due to color fade or dryer lint

good quality, appropriate sizing
Bought these for my 13-year-old grandson who has developed a passion for cooking. Christmas Day, he changed into his cooking pants and cooking apron and went to work in the kitchen and was a happy camper.

You want reliable black pants? Look no more bro
Very good fitting, been wearing it 6 days a week for work for about half a year now. Bought a second pair just in case but I’ve had no reason to use it. Whatever material it is it feels light and breezy. no faded colors, no rips, no friction between the crotch area wearing out the fabric from constantly moving. Very cheap for pants that last this long.

The best and comfiest chef pants!!
I LOVE THESE PANTS!! I use them for school and they are so comfy and great material! I feel the thickness and the pockets are a good size and holds good, like it won't drag my pants down if I put my phone in my pocket. I'm a petit girl and I got a XS and it fit perfectly! I definitely recommend these pants!!

Comfy but sizing is super inconsistent
Bought 3 pairs of the large on two separate orders, but ended up with three entirely different fits. I bought the large to have a nice baggy fit, but ended up with what seems like medium instead of large on 2/3 of my pants. The one true-to-size pair fits like a dream. Super comfy and loose, and the drawstrings keep them on 10/10 times, a relief for my coworkers, I'm sure, but the other two are full-on duds. I removed the tags before trying them on (my fault, I was too confident in ChefWorks' consistency). Lesson learned. They are just true to my actual size, so I'll live and wear them, but to everyone else, try your pants on; the sizing is inconsistent, unfortunately.

I’m a female, 5’7” and normally wear sizes between 12/14/16 in UK brands, I went for a medium size in these. The elastic band is a bit tight at times but I have gotten used to it after a while ( if you’re going normally with a size 16 and above I’d probably go for a Large) but I still find them comfortable, they’re also high waist. They don’t shrink in the wash but I always wash them in 30-40 degrees, and they’re a good length. They also have two side pockets and one at the back. Great purchase!

Absolutely excellent product of chef pants.I went with the same brand for my workwear and I was not disappointed. The last pairs I bought were nearly 8 years ago and lasted well all this time. They are roomy and well made and the stitching does not come loose.I would recommend these pants as they are very durable and they wash well without shrinking.Very happy I went with this brand again, thanks heaps!
