I saw an ad for this item and thought it be a great idea for when I lay tile in the bathroom. The tool is simple...yet genius. Not only does it contour perfectly, but the ruler on both side is VERY handy.

Used this for the first time today on a flooring job. Seemed to work really well. The plastic splines stayed where they were supposed to so I could transfer various odd corners and shapes to the flooring for cutting. Really made this part of the job much easier.

I thought I was purchasing a better quality gauge due to the higher cost, reviews, and built-in lock. However, the product did not work out of the box. The gauge is made up of plastic teeth that conform to the shape of the object. The one I received had one to many teeth, making it so tight and stiff, none of the teeth could move. I removed one on the teeth and it is now loose enough to actually move (poor quality control). I think I should have just purchased a lower cost gauge and would have saved about $10.

First off this tool comes in a nice fancy pouch. If that matters to any one. But does make it handy to store and keep the saw dust off.This is one of those tools I probably won't need much, very rarely, but when I do, it's going to be very usefulEasy to use, simple, push it up against the object and there you have it. One thing, don't expect a clean contour marketing, just the nature of the tool. Part of that is the fingers seem to be a little on the big side. You can see what I mean by the picture. So it's more of a rough outline. Though you could clean it up.Don't know what more I can say, it's a simple tool that works as it should. Glad I bought it.

So stiff / tight that it will not follow a curve. Not very happy with it at all. Someone said that is you remove one of the sliders it will free it up enough to work. Bad QC

I bought this as a gift for my father. He says he loves it and has used it many times. Definitely makes life easier for him.

The contour gauge made cutting around our door frames and an angled wall in our home a breeze!

The gauge was so stiff right out of the package that it was not usable. Really excessive force was required to push the guage to form a contour. It didn’t matter what position the lock was in.
