The Pilgrim's Progress

This movie is excellent. I’ve watched it many times, and each time I get more revelation out of it. Beautifully done.

Don't zip through the engaging introduction by Kristyn Getty. This is my favorite adaptation of this enduring classic, bar none. Beautifully scripted, voiced and animated, ethereal soundtrack, well paced storyline and absolutely family-friendly. I love a good Christian movie, and I'm glad there are so many quality choices now. This one zoomed to the top of my list. The first time I watched it, as soon as it ended I watched it again. I;m sure I;ve watched it at least 6 times in 3 months. It's my go-to when I want to immerse myself in a rousing, uplifting and affirming story. Last fall, my 16 year-old stepdaughter's phone remained dormant on her lap throughout the whole movie: unprecedented. When it was over and we offered her a copy for her own, she actually yelped (like, with joy) and grabbed it from my hand! When her 19-year old sis came to visit for Christmas so we could meet her boyfriend, they were both fully engaged by it, too. We gave a few as Christmas presents, and I'm sure they'll be the most enduring gifts we gave in 2019. As far as younger kids, I think you're fine as long as they can handle Chronicles of Narnia and its rather intense moments involving Aslan. There are intense scenes including an epic battle, but no graphic violence, no profanity, no nudity. It is a ripping good watch whatever your age. If your child can handle Narnia, they'll love this Pilgrim's Progress, too. Watch it with them, and enjoy the springboard it easily provides for discussion of many faith points. We spend so much on Disney. Invest a few dollars on this, too. We now own several copies, 1) as backups in case I wear one out, 2) in case it goes out of print [please, no!], and 3) to loan out to friends and family who are curious about Christian films. Among the 50 or more titles in our home ministry video library, this is my current favorite: right up there with Do You Believe, Woodlawn, War Room, The Nativity Story and of course, the Narnia franchise. If you want to give your kids something better to model after than pretty little liars, cheaters and the like, I encourage you to consider starting your own home library with THIS movie. Finally, to any who are seeking to learn about the Way of Christ, this is a thoughtful, beautiful and very entertaining presentation of what it truly means to follow the King.

I have never read the actual book. But after seeing this movie I plan to. Explains the gospel in very simple terms and can be for adults and as well as kids.

A classic story in a new great format. Good for kids to help understand Christian virtues.

This may be an animation film, but it's packed with spiritual references. Really liked it.

Very good movie for the whole family to watch with the whole family. Our grandkids loved it. Lot's of lessons of what is really going on even in todays age.

If the concept in this movie is applied to our lives, this movie shows that even though we are told. Even though we know what we should do. We seldom do the right thing, and because of that, we more often than not make our own lives difficult. Yet every time, no matter how far off the track we get, there is always a path that'll get us back where we ultimately want to be

Probably the best rendition of Bunyan’s classic tale that has ever been attempted. As a believer and follower of Christ, I’m challenged every time I watch this film to to put myself in the shoes of Pilgrim...where is he right now, where am I, and where am I going? Can I relate to his struggles?EVERY believer and non-believer/skeptic should watch this movie because it will stir up emotions about ones own life regardless of what one believes. It is worth the time to reflect on the exclusive claims of Christianity - and to see if those claims are inclusive to your walk in life.
