The cravings are gone!!!
Very well written book by 2 doctors who have used this diet to lose weight..This book explains in details the reasons why we crave for carbohydated food and the whole system behind blood sugar level i.e insulin getting high thus giving our brain messages that we are not full, even after having a full meal!! The book tells u little story about obese people who have tried the CArbohydrated addict's diet and have lost weight, not temporarily but its for a lifetime. The diet basically comprises of having 2 Complementary meals a day, with low fat,no carbs and high fibre content and one Reward meal a day in which you can eat "whatever" you like and in whatever quantity you like, you can even have 2 desserts. However the REward meal has to be completed within one hour. Basically the aim of this diet is to change the metabolic events by eating 2 low carbs meal(the complementary meals) which will help in releasing less insulin, so less fat is stored and more fat is used up. When the level of insulin goes low it will allow the brain chemical to act as an appetite regulator and will send a message to your brain that you are now full. The book gives some nice recipes too, a chart to write down your weight and simple and clear instructions to follow. I would recommend this book to anyone who is actually a carbohydrate addict. I love chocolate, all types of breads, which i would normally completely eliminate in other that i have tried in the past. I am trying this diet now in order to shift the last couple of pounds left without having to eliminate my favourite food, which i know i can have once a day a part of my REward meal everyday and still manage to lose weight. On my fourth day of this diet, i have a lost a pound already. The lost of weight has to be slow and steady. I would recommend this book to anyone who is a carbohydrate lover and wants to lose weight without having to deprive themselves from their favourite food.

Very Informative
For so many years, I would crave on sweets and crisps especially when my monthly period is near. Then when I moved here in the UK, it became worst. I would just crave with no apparent reason and I would eat and eat despite being full. At one point, I admitted to myself that I had chocolate addiction. I cant live a day without at least a bar and though my throat already hurts I would reason out to myself that Dark Chocolate is good and I should keep on eating. I was obviously fooling myself about it.One reviewer mentioned that carbohydrate addiction was explained well on the book and I can confirm that. It was in simple terms despite both authors being scientists. There's a test on the book which will identify whether a person is carbohydrate addict or not. I am moderately a carbohydrate addict.I am not after weight lost, I just want to control my craving. I tested the diet and it worked for me. Personally, I believe the diet can be sustained by anybody. You can tailor fit your program depending on the different diet plans. You are allowed to eat what you want in a `Reward Meal' but it has to be completed in an hour. There is no starving, but you need to have a discipline. There are sample menus as well. This book has allowed me to understand my cravings thus allowing me to intellectualize my food choices. And yes, I am no longer chocolate-addict. After some research, I am convinced that dark chocolate is not at all a superfood.

Finally I understand why I crave carbs!
Bought this book as after reading the reviews I thought thats me.This book is for you if like me, you have always craved carbs. Im 5ft 6" and weigh nearly 10 stone. Im not obese or overweight by some people's standards but Im like most other average women, have love handles coming, and Im carrying approx half a stone to a stone of extra weight, and I think about food constantly, and what ways I can drop at least half a stone.I crave sweets, bread, rice, pasta, chocolate and cake and biscuits, all the carbs basically. Im not massively overweight just need to lose a few pounds but I hate dieting and that feeling of starving myself.Well with this book I dont have to anymore, if anything my diet will improve with my 2 carb free meals and I still get to eat what I crave most once a day!In simple terms the theory behind this book is that you can eat 2 carb free meals during the day, be it breakfast and lunch, and then 1 reward meal where you can eat & drink what you like as long as you do it within 1 hour. However throughout the day there must be no snacks and no cheating. This book tells you why you crave carbs and why you struggle with other diets, it gives the biological reason for your cravings, and once I read thhis book I finally understood why I was like I was (Its only taken me 38 years!)Easy, hopefully all my prayers are answered as to why I want to eat chocolate and cake all the time, and with the help of this book I wont do it anymore. For readers in the uk, once you get past the American way of using dieters as examples, there are some really useful recipes and it tells you the carb count of most everyday foods at the back of the book. If I can lose the recommended 1lb - 2lb per week I'll be happy because at my weight this half a stone is the hardest to lose
