This is a VERY good chuck!
Once again, I'm upgrading a Central Machinery Harbor Freight floor mount drill press that I've had and used for over 18 years. The original chuck held up pretty well, but was increasingly slipping the bit. I also cussed more than once when the chuck key would mysteriously disappear, making half of each drilling project a seek and find. At first, I was on the fence about using a keyless chuck, but the last "travelling key" pushed me off the fence. Removal of the old chuck was quick and easy. Installation of the keyless chuck is also quite easy provided that your spindle is perfectly clean and you've selected the correct taper that hammers into the arbor spindle. There are 2 tapers on each chuck assembly. One that hammers up into the spindle and the other that hammers down into the chuck head. There are also threaded chucks and keyway pinned. The following link takes you to a great Amazon video which explains the parts and assembly of a press (hammer) on arbor and head. It will also tell you how to identify the correct replacement options. https://www.amazon.com/Earl-Diamond-Super-Heavy-Capacity/dp/B07P5P6Z8Z?th=1 This keyless chuck meets all my drilling needs and eliminates the need for key hunts. On the rare occasion when the bit starts to slip, I bought a $5 spanner wrench and use that to tighten it up just a tad. That occasional slip is why this chuck didn't get all 5 stars. But at NO time did I ever regret buying it.

For the price, I don't think you could get any better
I have a Jet JDP17 17" drill press, which I bought new about 10 years ago. While it's working OK now, I've had two major problems with this drill press. First, the bearings in the quill came from the factory incorrectly installed. Second, the drill chuck had more runout than I feel is acceptable, it's action is pretty rough, and worst of all, it won't stay seated in the quill! Every so often, it just drops free. But it's taken me a while to get around to replacing it. I hurt my hand a couple weeks back, and it's made using the chuck key sort of painful. That was the push over the edge I needed.Anyway, I bought this keyless chuck and MT2-JT33 arbor for that drill press. And I feel I got a lot better chuck than I'd expected. The action is VERY smooth. It grips bits firmly while only requiring a moderate amount of torque on the grip. The runout is WAY better than I'd expected. Using a dial indicator, I measured the runout of the quill of my press to be under half a thousandth (.0005"). The arbor above the drill chuck measured the same, so that added no error. With a 1/2" drill rod in the chuck, the runout was .001" 1/2" below the bottom of the chuck, and just under .003 5" below the bottom of the chuck. For a drill press used primarily for woodworking, that's negligible. Even for general metalworking, it's more than acceptable...after all, it's a drill press, not a milling machine. For comparison, the stock chuck that came with my Jet drill press measured well over .010" runout 1/2" below the chuck when it was new. I got it down to about .006" after some cleanup of the arbor and quill taper, but still, it was always much worse than this 'cheap' chuck.

Close, not quite......
When I first put this drill chuck on the lathe, I was getting a run-out of 0.25mm (~0.010"). I know my lathe is under 0.02mm (0.0007"), and other spindles/chucks/drives all seem to run true within 0.001", so I was sure the issue was beyond the lathe itself. I pressed the 2Mt/JT33 back off again. I measured the run-out of the 2Mt/Jt33 part, and most of the run-out came from that piece, so I lightly dressed the Jt33 end with that piece between centers. After dressing, I now have the total run-out down to 0.07mm (0.0027"), not too bad, but this was advertised as a close-tolerance chuck, and out of the box, it definitely wasn't what I was hoping for.The chuck itself seems fine. It seems to hold a bit well, and it operates smoothly. It looks well-made.While the chuck is now serviceable, for what I'm doing, I want to be at closer tolerances than where I'm at now. I have a Jacob's chuck on order as well as a different 2Mt/JT33 part. I'll keep this one on hand for general purpose tasks.I wanted to be fair with the review. I took off one star due to the accuracy issue which likely could have been solved easily with a different 2Mt part, and to be honest, I wasn't expecting all that much much for the price.

Keyless chuck with nearly 0 runout for $30!!!
I bought this as an upgrade for my 17" porter cable floor drill press and it made for a way more convenient way of switching bits and more accurate holes due to almost 0 run out. BIt's hard to believe they can make a keyless chuck this good for so cheap. Buy it you won't regret it!!

Surprising quality
Very nice piece of hardware for the money. Lockup and unlocks very well and runs very true. My old chuck had too much run out to attempt an end mill in the press. I tried with this and it was very good. Not as good as a milling machine, but doable. Probably going to replace the keyless on my lathe with one of these.

Incorrect Taper on the Arbor
The chuck and arbor are sold as a set, and are supposed to actually fit together. This chuck never seated correctly on the arbor. The tapers are different and the arbor is both the wrong taper and too big in diameter when compared to the chuck, when both are claimed to be JT33. This causes the chuck to settle in unevenly and causes 10 thousands runout on a chuck that started with 1.5 thousandths runout when I first seated it.Next time I'll spend more money on better tools.

Excellent chuck
I bought a WEN 4212t drill press at the same time put it on that immediately. No problems. Visually attractive unit btw.

Great quality
I was skeptical until I received the chuck. It was very good quality and works flawlessly.

Dont believe the hype
Not as good as claimed in other reviews. Accuracy and grip are not up to an all purpose standard. Does some small jobs well, where power and accuracy are not required.
