Electronic Water Timer Garden Irrigation Controller Digital Intelligence Watering System LCD Waterproof, No Water Pressure Required

I bought 5 of these to attach to my rain barrels. We have had these working for just over a month each with three day schedules. So far we have not had to change the batteries yet, 2 AAAs. So far they have withstood the Texas heat but I had to put foil to protect the LCD displays and we will see how it goes as we are now in the 100s during the day.What I like: relatively inexpensive, and since they are using ball valves they do not need heavy water pressure to work. My barrels are just under two feet above the ground and are able to water our plants using 1/2 “ feeder tubes with 1/4 “ tubes to the plants (no emitters as those do not work at this low of pressure.)The timer function is interesting, there are multiple timers however the way you set the time is to set the on and then the off time. I think I’d prefer to set a start time and duration, but so far it works.What I miss is a manual operation which has a duration. The way to do the manual operation is to change from ‘auto’ to ‘on’, then to stop you change from ‘on’ to ‘off’ (wait for the ball valve) then back to auto.The other thing I miss is having buttons with a flap cover where the buttons are waterproof. This model using a screw on water tight cover which has to be removed for any changes to the operations. In this design this also protect the batteries.So far though the times work well. The question really is how long can they last in this Texas heat.I should also mention that so far we have not had any leaks with any of the timers.

A little cumbersome to setup the timer schedule but this is one of the few water timers that use a ball valve instead of needing water pressure to actuate which is necessary to use with a rain barrel setup. I bought it to tend my garden while I was on vacation but just a couple months later it quit working completely.Update: The seller reached out and made the problem right. I liked very much the design of this timer. It seemed very simple and efficient. on the good side, this timer uses 2 AAA batteries only that will last quite some time. I turned the valve on/off once a day, and only had to replace the batteries every 3 months or so.On the negative side, the timer stopped working exactly 14 months after purchased. I wasn't expecting this to last much more than 2 or 3 years. However, 1 year is on the short side for a timer, specially considering that the failure seems to have occurred internally allowing water to leak into the electronics.I liked it while it lasted. I will replace it with a different device.

I bought the one zone unit andinstalled outdoor. The sun beats on it all day long, and when it rains it rains on it. 6 months later it works with no problems.I had problems with other brands where the screen/unit was not covered, and once it rained on them they started to work eranously.This unit has the plastic cover which prevents it from getting wet.

I had asked the question can I set Wed/Fri/Sun, and someone responded with "yes, it's fully programmable." Well, I ordered it, and in fact, the answer to my question is NO. It can do several three-days-a-week combination, but Wed/Fri/Sun is NOT one of them. What I had to do is to set the current time to be two days off so that it would trigger Mon/Wed/Fri on Wed/Fri/Sun which is a pain and totally confusing, but I'm thinking it ought to work as long as I always adjust the time to compensate for its programmability shortcomings. Also, I would have preferred AA batteries, not AAA batteries, as AAA batteries don't last nearly as long. So it could be worse, but it's clumsy with the programming, especially if you need specific days of the week due to the water saving schedule your property is on.

The product worked like it was supposed to I did have a small problem outside of the warranty date I reached out to their customer service and they took care of my problem and rectified it in a timely manner I would highly recommend them they stand behind their products and they do quality business this is something that's hard to find with companies nowadays

There are not many choices out there for low-pressure (Rain Barrel) timers. I purchased one of these in late June of 2021. Programming was picky, but the timer worked well enough that I bought a second one the first week of July.Unfortunately, the undersized AAA batteries only lasted a month or two. I've never had a battery timer before that didn't last a full season. The battery tray has flimsy wires connecting it to the main unit. One of my battery trays detached the first time I tried to replace the batteries.So now I am down to one timer that I don't really trust. I am searching for a longer lasting, more robust zero-pressure alternative. However, I don't know if such a timer exists.

We used this for a soaker hose to keep our cows cool in the 100+ days. I found it easy to program with multiple start and stop times and then worked as it was programmed. The cows appreciated it and I felt at ease when I wasn’t around that they would still keep cool.
