little large for a key ring but still small enough to carry in the interior pocket of a purse
A little large for a key ring but still small enough to carry in the interior pocket of a purse.Oddly enough, I forgot it was in my purse and took it on a trip. TSA saw it, played with it, but in the end didn't take it away. I was surprised.

Side spikes are thin hollow tubes that screw in and snap off easily.
Not very useful for self defense. The side spikes screw in (not terrible) but it turns out they are made of hollow aluminum tubes, like thin straws. Why would they do that? To save a gram of aluminum? I tried punch a board thinking it was durable and noticed it immediately bent. I pushed it a bit more to straighten and it snapped off in my fingers leaving the threads inside. Not very useful in an emergency and may actually endanger you when it fails. Flimsy is the tldr.

Sturdy
I bought these on a whim. I wanted some kind of self-defense weapon that didn't necessarily look the part.PROS:sturdygood gripmy hands are small so this fits almost the entire size of my hand which is nice. It's not too small, it's not too big, it's just right.Yes, it'll stick out a bit when used as a keychain, but isn't that the whole point? That it's kind of a visible weapon? I like that.I watched a video on youtube about how to use it and found how versatile it is to cause instant pain to a potential attacker. The instructor in the video said that he had interviewed several attackers in prison and they all said the same thing, that look for the weakest person they could find to harm. But if they noticed someone with a potential weapon, they steered clear because they wanted the easy target.I think all women should have one of these and learn the basics on how to give a potential attacker a serious thrashing with this little weapon. It's little and simple looking but after watching the video, wow, it's pretty painful for anyone willing to take their chance.CONS: I haven't really come up with any.RECOMMENDED? Yes. Good price. Good quality solid weapon.

a cheap, safe, compact, & inconspicuous way to feel safe
I know it's not much, but it makes me feel a little bit safer. It's nice that it's so cheap too. I went to the Statue of Liberty & security took it away from me because of its glass breaking potential & I was really bummed out but I knew that getting a replacement would be fast & cheap. It's also nice because it doesn't really look like a weapon so when you're walking around with it someone won't assume you're looking for a fight. I don't keep it on my key ring because I find it too bulky- I just put it in my front pocket & it fits nicely.

Broke first day.
The two small spike that screw into the larger spike use a hollow chambered section to screw into the holes, making them very fragile. Mine broke within 24 hours of sitting on my keychain on my hip. It is still usable as a single spike, which is why it is getting 2 stars still. I am returning for a refund, however.

Great for men & women
This is really a great self-defense tool! No training needed, you can use your keys to swing the Kubaton or the Kubaton to swing the keys. Developed by one of the world's greatest martial artist's Tak Kubota.

Light weight, machining is poor
Very light weight (this is a plus), however the machining on ours was very poor. Several areas could have been sanded and they were not, and then painted over. QA control could be improved. Overall you get what you pay for.

Meh. It’s... okay I ‘spose
It’s okay. A bit lighter than I would like. Feels hollow but it’s peobably solid. Looks solid when looking at the key ring hole up close. It’ll do the job if need be; however, I bought this as more than just a self defense tool. I bought it as something to fiddle with when feeling antsy but the weight and finish isn’t great. I guess that fiddling isn’t it’s purpose so I shouldn’t critique it based on that; however, if you’re going to judge it based on looks and feel, then it’s a three star item.
