Rajah Tandoori Masala (Spice Mix) 100g

Since our closest Indian market closed (and it was 40 minutes away), I have not had a reliable source of Indian spices. I like the Rajah brand and have used their spices for years. The 100g tins are a convenient size - not too large, not too small - and they stack well in our pantry. Tandoori Masala spice mix is a flavorful curry blend without being "hot" - it is actually quite mild. I've actually bought a wide variety of spice blends from Amazon and gifted someone who kept talking about having a *boring kitchen*, spice wise. So I bought ..think it was 5 or 6 different ones and he is still raving about how outstanding everything is tasting now ....that's the best review, I'd say, right? :-) This is probably the one he speaks about the most.

I had no idea what I was getting when I ordered this product, but a recipe called for it and so... Anyway, I've purchased this and Garam Masala as well. Both provide great flavors when used according to recipe directions. I've tried it on fish, chicken, and pork. I've also used it, lightly, with stir-fried vegetables. I've been happy with all of the results. I was asked to provide a comment about this regarding cinnamon. One of the ingredients is cinnamon but I could not detect it separately from the other ingredients. It was listed as the fourth ingredient on the side of the can. the Garam Masala listed cinnamon as the second ingredient.

I had bought this a long time ago and loved it. I am now preparing my own Indian cuisine and wanted a fresh supply. This smells like heaven and has so many ways you can use it (i.e. marinade, rub, sauces). Works well when cooking your meals on a stove top or oven but tastes amazing when you cook using gas or charcoal bbq.

Received the natural colored spice instead of the original pictured. Flavor is very different as some of the ingredients advertised are missing or substituted in the natural colored version. Please change the picture and the ingredients listed if you only sell the natural colored spice. Very misleading.

Needed to make butter chicken recipe. Now I have it for future use

My husband and I had Butter Chicken at a local Indian Restaurant. I loved it so much I had to come home and look a recipe up online. I found out I needed this spice along with garam masala. This spice container was perfect and smells/tastes amazing in Indian dishes!

I tried Tandoor Masala from other manufacurers before I used Rajah's. Boy, a difference of a day and night.This is very strong and adds great flavor to the recipe. You just need a spoonful or two for small dish.I love it. Highly recommended.
