Coleman Premium Camping Tent Kit: Steel Tent Pegs, Rubber Mallet, Broom and Dustpan, Stake Puller, Includes Carry Bag

I was so worried this tent kit was a waste of money. I had gone car camping before with this and survived. Did I really need a tent kit?Yes! A thousand times yes!If you have room in car, absolutely buy this. If you don't have room in your car, make room. You'll thank me.I used this product for desert car camping at the Coachella Valley Music Festival. I was instantly the most popular person there. Everyone wanted to borrow the mallet and the stake puller. Everyone. Every person who saw them borrowed them.They make set up and take down of your tent or Easy-Up a breeze.The mallet makes driving stakes into the ground near effortless for me a very petite woman. The stake puller speeds up the process of setting up your camp ground, as you inevitably stake something incorrectly. And clean up after tired days of camping goes much easier when stakes are quick to remove from the ground.The stakes in this kit are great! They are robust and hardcore. They have holes in the top where you can attach an s-clip.The only part of the kit that isn't entirely necessary is the dust brush and pan. We did end up using it to sweep out the tent, but it's not essential.The carry bag is of medium quality. It may not last forever. But, I am entirely satisfied with my purchase.If I was backpacking, I would probably not carry all of this kit, due to weight and space limitations. For backpacking I would suggest the stake puller and these stakes. I have never seen stakes as sturdy as these.

As an avid camper and outdoors person, I use my tent quit a bit and the only way to make a tent last is to make sure that you take really good care of it and this kit will definitely help you do that for sure! The kit comes in a nice little mesh bag and includes four extra heavy duty tent stakes, a convenient tent stake puller for those ones that don't want to come out of the ground easily, a very nice quality rubber mallet to help drive tent stakes into rougher terrain like we have here in Oklahoma, and my favorite part of the package is the nice little hand broom and dust pan for sweeping out the inside of the tent before you roll it up and pack it back in the bag for the next trip. All in all this is a very nice addition to have in your camping gear for all of those excellent summer camping trips! And as always when it comes to camping gear Coleman never lets me down with there quality products!

Good quality, the rubber mallet came in more handy then I realized it would on our camping trip so I'm really glad I got it. The dust pan is nice up honestly I'm going to come up with a bigger version for us because we have an 8 person tent. The stakes were sturdy and came in handy. Great buy.

Not a bad tent kit, could use a couple of upgrades to make it a 5 star. First, the bag they give you, a mesh type bag, which allows the dirt to fall out, is way to large of a mesh? The problem is, the tent pegs and the stake puller poke through? Then there's the stake puller, as others have mentioned, bends easily when pulling out the tent pegs? What's the use in having one if it bends? Come on guys! You can do better than this?! I did find the rubber mallet to be sturdy and sufficient in getting the job done. The dust pan works fine, it's small and compact, good for spot cleaning the floor and other areas. If you tend to track in a lot of dirt, I suggest getting a larger dust pan. Had no complaints on the tent pegs, way better than what came with my Coleman tent! They're sturdy, durable, and with the pointed ends, I had no problem pounding them into the rocky hard ground. They stayed in place and did their job well. All in all, not a bad kit for the price but definitely could use some improvements.

I originally bought this solely because I wanted the mallet and this tent set was only a few dollars more than buying the mallet itself and I'm very happy with my decision to purchase this. I recently took it camping with me at a music festival on a very rocky mountain and the mallet was an essential tool to help me get the stakes into the hard ground. Everyone setting up camp around me was also very thankful that I came prepared with a mallet and I ended up getting a free beer out it. Also the stakes that come with this kit are very sturdy and I was glad I had them because the stakes that came with my brand new Coleman tent were not as strong and ended up bending to where I couldn't use them anymore. And when it came time to break down the tent, the stake puller saved me a lot of time and energy. And to top it off, it comes with a carrying bag. The convenience this kit provides you while camping is WELL worth the money. Do yourself a favor and get this kit.

I rated this 5 stars because this kit is the perfect addition to getting a tent! The stakes are very solid, durable, with flex-plastic tips to protect the pointed tips. Since I had injured one hand, the 'stake-puller' a great Help! The hand-broom & dustpan work very well in sweeping up the tent before taking it down-- Or any mess that might get tracked in. The mallet was perfect-- I would consider this a 'must-have' for getting those stakes in the ground! It has a nice weight to it and easily delivers whatever power needed to get the stakes in. AND, it all came in a great little mesh bag.The only 'down side' of this was the VERY strong 'rubber/plastic' odor that emanated from this as I took it out of the box. However, since I wouldn't need it for 2 weeks, I placed the whole bag on the window sill of an open window, and the smell went away![Thumbs-UP for this product!!]

I bought the kit mainly for the tent stake puller. The sale price for the kit was only a few dollars more than a solo puller. I was surprised at the quality of the whole kit. Nice heavy hammer, great stakes, fantastic puller and a dustpan and broom that are a perfect size for my tent. The carry bag compacts everything neatly. I've found the more compact I can pack all my gear the more I can bring. This kit fits the bill. To quote the great author and outdoorsman Colin Fletcher, "take care of the ounces and the pounds will take care of themselves".
