Good info but overpriced
Valuable content placed in laymans terms. Straight to the point into practical instructions. Nothing wrong with the content, but for the price expected a much better publishing (quality of paper, photos, diagrams) and a far deeper/extensive address on the subject. Feels more like a booklet than an actual book. I do recommend 'rammed earth construction' from krahn.

Raw earth
The book dealt primarily raw unstablized rammed earth. Living in the USA It is almost impossible to build that is not stabilized. It very adequately covers the concepts of basic stabilized ground work

Best of five rammed earth books I’ve bought.
This is the best of five rammed earth books I bought, it is very descriptive (in layman’s term’s) on how to test soils in all the different possible methods and putting additives like Portland cement in your mix (when you should when you don’t need to). Most of the studied builds took place in Africa but Africa has so many climates that it most likely covers the one you’re thinking of building in. It did mine and I’m west of the Grand Canyon. It has different ways to make “molds” so you can have a variety of shaped wall. Only half way through but already this is my best of 5 rammed earth books.
