A great set for toddlers
I got this for my grandson and he loves it! The pieces are all good quality and it works great to teach him the names of everything, colors and also how to cut things. It's not too hard to "cut" through the velcro but it's sturdy enough that it stay together. I got a great deal and it's definitely worth what I paid!

Awesome food set
Whoever thought of this was awesome! I bought this for my 4 year old daughter. We've only had it for a few days and she has played with it non stop. I think it is a pretty well made set.Packaging: The set comes in a wooden tray with the sides about 2 inches tall and pretty well made. The fruit sits in molded plastic holding each piece separate. The bottom of the tray has a picture of hay. I took the plastic out so its easier for my daughter to take care of it, she can just put all the pieces in the tray.Knife: Good imitation wooden knife. It's about 8 inches long and shaped like a butcher knife.Fruit: Set comes with a strawberry, pear, kiwi, cantaloupe, melon, orange, and lemon. They are made of solid wood, and the pictures/colors on them are painted on, not stickers. The pieces of fruit are held together by velcro that is inset in the center of each piece. The velcro is white and it about the size of a nickel. I think the velcro could be larger on some of the bigger pieces of fruit (the pear for instance) to hold it together better, but what it has does do the trick. When cutting the fruit, it does imitate real cutting. My daughter actually has to put "work" into it to get them cut.As far as durability, I really can't say as we've only had it a week. I can see the velcro eventually giving out, but that would be an easy fix.I would recommend this product as I know it will give my daughter several years of fun!

Good Creative Toy.
Well made & durable as should be expected from this brand. Kids like playing with it. Velcro is sometimes very sticky so they may have to push hard with wooden knife to cut them up. Good add on toa play kitchen for either boys or girls.

Quality
Just like other Melissa and Doug products, I always know I can trust a toy from them to be durable, good quality, and cute! I love this classic velcro fruit and vegetable set. My preschoolers are bound to love it. I appreciate that the velcro parts are about the size of other velcro dots you can purchase, so if they wear out I could easily glue on new ones. I expect these to hole up great!

Great hit in our house
My 4 years old daughter loves everything to do with kitchen and cooking, at first i thought its more suitable for younger kids but she loves to pretend she's making a salad and then she takes out a bowl from the kitchen and serve it, its adorable! So i guess that if you have a child that is interested in cooking they might like it even if they are older.my 1 year old really likes to play with it and separate the pieces. Its nice that some of the fruits has 3 pieces. Its made of wood and is durable, we had similar in the past but they didnt last well

Great toy, Quality Control issues
These fruit are solid wood, the toy knife is well constructed. My toddler (2 years) loves this toy, it's one of her favorites. Two issues though: first, the orange came cracked and we got a splinter from it. Going to attempt to use wood filler and orange paint to fix it, but there's a control issue there.Secondly, some of the divots where the velcro sits are a bit too deep, so some toy fruits have a hard time connecting well (especially the multi-segmented fruits like the banana and melon). In ours, the banana, melon, and kiwi have a _very_ loose connection (sometimes the kiwi is only being held on by one or two velcro strands) while the strawberry, orange, and pear are solid.

Fun toy when the age is right!
I bought these a little early for my last grandson. I do hope he’ll have access to them when he’s old enough as they are clever and fun as the kids make you sandwiches or cookies and proudly carry them with the little mitts to you to share! The older grandkids have had them for years, and it also intrigued them that the “knife” cut the veggies apart (velcro)…..and they had a lot of fun with them. Well crafted. Sturdy. Safe.

Engaging and Educational: A Must-Have Kitchen Playset
I purchased this wooden fruit cutting set for my son after it was recommended by his speech and occupational therapists, and it has been a game changer! He absolutely loves playing with it. Every morning, he gets up on his step stool, grabs the set, and starts ‘cutting’ the fruit, which has been great for improving his fine motor skills. Before we got this, he wasn’t using both hands to cut, but now he’s getting the hang of it. I bought it during Amazon Prime Day on sale, and it was one of the best purchases I’ve made. Plus, it keeps him entertained in the kitchen while I’m cooking, so I don’t have to rely on the tablet as much. I’m now on the lookout for more kitchen playsets that can engage him just as much!
