HIGHLY TOXIC TO CATS, CAN RESULT IN FATALITY!
Do your research, Permethrin, used as the primary repellent in this product IS DEADLY TO CATS! Your dog will be fine, but Google Permethrin and read about what it does to cats. It is highly toxic to them and often results in death. The manufacturer should really have a warning, they don't. Here is your warning...Please vote as helpful, so other people can get their warning (even if you are not a cat owner). From Wikipedia (Permethrin):"Domestic animalsPesticide-grade permethrin is toxic to cats. Many cats die after being given flea treatments intended for dogs, or by contact with dogs having recently been treated with permethrin.[27]Toxic exposure of permethrin can cause several symptoms, including convulsion, hyperaesthesia, hyperthermia, hypersalivation, and loss of balance and coordination. Exposure to pyrethroid-derived drugs such as permethrin requires treatment by a veterinarian, otherwise the poisoning is often fatal.[28][29] This intolerance is due to a defect in glucuronosyltransferase, a common detoxification enzyme in other mammals (that also makes the cat intolerant to paracetamol and many essential oils).[30] The use of any external parasiticides based on permethrin is contraindicated for cats. (Cat ecotoxicology : cutaneous 100 mg/kg - oral 200 mg/kg.)"

It doesn't look super stupid and is easily cleaned
The shirt seems to work reasonably well. It doesn't look super stupid and is easily cleaned. I bought two of these- one for each of my knee-high, 45 lb-ish dogs. The dogs didn't kick up a fuss when I put their vests on, so I assume they are moderately comfortable as well. The only problem I saw was that they don't hold up well if your dogs are particularly vigorous or spend most of the day outside like mine do. It didn't take long before the shirts tore- first at the seam about the leg hole, then in the mesh sides. Over all it was a good buy, but it is not a final solution unless either your dogs only wear them a couple hours a day under direct supervision or if you plan to keep buying more every few weeks as they wear out. For reference, my dogs spend about 10-12 hours per day out in the yard and the shirts lasted about a month before they were completely destroyed.

No ticks!
We easily slipped this light-weight "coat" on to our 19-pound poodle mix. It fits perfectly and gives her ample freedom to run in the woods, tick country. So far, not a single tick! One side advantage to this little coat is that it is orange on top, which means that it will be very useful here in hunting season; hunters will easily be able to recognize that this is not a deer darting through the woods.I think the size we bought (medium) is perfect for our 19/20-pounder. I think it would be OK on a dog that is a couple of pounds heavier or lighter.

Seems to Protect
Had to return the small size, as it was too tight for my 20 lb Welsh Pembroke Corgi, and she is a tiny Corgi. The Medium would have been a better fit but only had Large when I reordered. Large is too big but workable for her. Still seems to protect her. Used it on recent camping trip in buggy, ticky region and she was good. Well protected. Real test will be our camping trip to Alaska!!! I would suggest the listing include more information on size.

I love it! It's an extra protection for the fleas ...
I love it! It's an extra protection for the fleas even though they are on monthly medication, one of them is allergic to any bite. So it does help to keep them protected. They do run a little large but it doesn't really matter much. The small one fit my small dog perfectly mainly because they have an undercoat. The one I got for the medium dog was a little big on her but it still works. I do wish that they came in more colors!

Measure twice buy once
I would recommend going by measurement and not by weight. The XXL measures 25" at the neck, 37" at the chest and 30" in length. If those measurements are too large I would suggest looking at our sizing chart located underneath the area where you would choose size and color.

S/M size is perfect for my Cairn Terrier.
I just received this so I cannot attest to its effectiveness against the bugs yet. But the size was so perfect, I thought my review might help some future customers. My Cairn Terrier is on the small size and weighs 12 pounds. I bought the S/M size and it fits her exactly. Not too tight - not too loose.

Keep the skeeters off in style
True to size, very comfortable fit. It's actually a nice looking shirt, the manufacturer should make these without the bug repellent as well since it's so difficult to find lightweight and good-looking shirts that comfortably fit larger dogs.I would recommend this as a camping/outdoor shirt for dogs to keep the mosquito's at bay, but I don't think it would be effective for fleas or ticks since that would need total body coverage. If you live in a flea prone area, research other options to deter fleas such as putting vinegar in the pets water, supplement with brewers yeast tablets or Kyolic garlic extract (not regular garlic), give lemon sponge baths, or make your own flea spray with vinegar and cedar or lavender oil. If the fleas are already in your house, then be prepared for a lot of vacuuming and laundering, and consider dusting Diatomaceous Earth around your house to take care of the fleas. Anything but giving your beloved dog the flea pills vets sell, those are nothing but toxic chemicals that cause long-term harm for short-term benefit.
