PN4.520D 520W 4 Channel Class D Picasso Series Compact Amplifier PN4520D

This amplifier is one of the still " made in Korea" amplifiers made by Soundstream. It puts out super clean sound quality and put out true rated power. You get high and low level inputs, selectable crossovers for both channels as well as a power and protect led. I have used these amp for years and they never let me down and for the price you can not beat it.

I have a 2001 Harley Road glide, and mounted 2 of these in the fairing (on metal brackets purchased through hawg tunes) they work well, and no overheating issues. There are many install kits available but I made my own wiring harness, and had no trouble getting them installed. A tight squeeze fitting them in, but it can be done. They are powering 3 sets of Polk 6.5 inch 2 way speakers. Great amps, awesome performance and sound. Also I recommend if you do this, to upgrade to a better battery, I used an Odyssey.I have received many compliments on this setup. You will not regret getting these amplifiers.

Great amp for the price. Not the most tunable amp but it sounds great and is very efficient. Very powerful for the size.

All I can say it try this amp out. U will not be disappointed. I put it on my 2019 street glide. It replaced a 1000w jensen amp. And it was actually louder and incredibly clear sound. My bike at 500 yards sounds like u are beside it. I’m running polk audio 6.5s and 2 polk audio6x9s lid. So if u are thinking about pioneer or Jensen for the same money yeah the 1000w Jensen you would think was better. but this amp at half the max watts this soundstream is twice as loud and 5x cleaner sound. It made my bike sound amazing.

This amp may be small in size, but it makes great power - used it to replace a dead amp in my car. There's no comparison between the one I replaced and this one - the Soundstream is 4x more powerful and smaller in size! Crazy.The only gripe I have is the crossover frequency is fixed at 80 Hz, it is not variable - but at this price you really can't complain!Seems Amazon only lists the bridged output. I had a Pioneer GM-D9500F, it is a class FD 4 channel bridgeable amp. It was driving a front pair of Pioneer TS-D1702C 6-3/4 inch Component speakers and a rear pair of TS-D1702R 6-3/4 inch coaxial speakers in the rear speaker pods. I had the rear speaker pods ported into the tour pack and the rear pods were both damped with acoustic foam and with bass fiber filler. The front speakers had the entire front fairing is damped by acoustic foam and bass fiber filler was placed around the woofer. I also have the pioneer DEH-X3600UI CD receiver. The receiver is connected to the amp through Audio Quest G-Snake interconnects and the speaker cables are through Boss Audio (those need to be upgraded) the power and ground cable is Boss Audio. So that is the set up, the amp is located in the tour pack.So the comparison.... the Pioneer GM-D9500F very powerful for 75 watts per channel, very clean, clear, transparent. The head unit really allows you to adjust the tonal quality of the music. A friend told me to increase my power that 75 watts wasn't enough, though going at highway speeds (keeping up with traffic) the sound/loudness wasn't an issue. But I'm all for more power, so I decided to purchase a more powerful amp and I read some good things about the Sound Stream Picasso Nano 4.520d 4 channel. Why not go for it, it was a good price, cheaper than my Pioneer and with more power.I swapped out the Pioneer GM-D9500F for the Sound Stream Picasso Nano 4.520d. I certainly heard a difference, keeping all things the same, (head unit settings, cables, power, speakers, acoustic dampening, porting), the sound stream seems to not have as much transparency, it also seemed to struggle at lower volumes. What I mean by that, the Pioneer was clearer, more tonally accurate, greater bass reproduction and the highs didn't bust my ear drums. While the Sound Stream certainly got loud, it got harsher as the volume was increased.So I hear the logical comments, why does any of this matter when your on a Harley and all you hear is the pipes and air. Well... believe it or not, you can have a great sound system on a Harley that really sounds great while your riding at any speed. If you only replace the amp, you will hear some difference and if that is all your doing, just buy the cheapest most power amp and plug in to your Harley. However, if your really trying to enjoy music while your riding and you have upgraded from the power source to the interconnects and speaker cables you can achieve sonic quality music that sounds as really great while your riding and sounds fantastic with the bike off and playing music. Think of all the pieces that make your sound system work, and now think of each piece as a gray layer of glass. Put all those gray layers of glass together and while you can still see light through it, it isn't clear, bright, or nearly the same as the source. That is what audiophiles strive for is to get the sound reproduction to be virtually the same as the source. By making all those changes on the my Harley, the sound that I'm hearing is much closer to the source than the original equipment. As you replace the stock or cheap pieces with more quality pieces, you take a gray glass pane out and put a clearer glass pane, you do this until you get to the closest reproduction of the source, or until you wife screams at you to stop spending on the audio system (by the way I'm the later).So back to the review, the Pioneer S/N is >95db while the Sound Stream S/N is 70db. This means that the Pioneer has cleaner sound (greater sounds than background noise). This is why at higher volume the Sound Stream was more harsher and sounded more colored, while the Pioneer was cleaner, more transparent, more accurate representation of the music.One other matter I noticed, while many people stated the Sound Stream didn't get hot or was barely warm, I noticed a completely different result. The Sound Stream got very hot, so hot that at times I could touch it for about half a second before it was uncomfortable to touch. The Pioneer on the other hand got warm, but near to the point where I was concerned. I commute 129 miles round trip to work, so I really use my sound system and I crank it while riding. With all things being the same, I took the Sound Stream off and remounted my Pioneer.Yes the Sound Stream is much smaller in size (that's a huge plus), but the Pioneer fit very well in the tour pack. I'll probably place the Sound Stream in the front fairing and use it to drive sub woofers in the lower fairing. I hope this is helpful to anyone wondering if more watts is better than what they currently have. Your consideration should be more than just watts.

Soundstream PN4.520D mounting in fairing affairI struggled with the dilemma of how to mount a soundstream PN4.520D amplifierAmp Dimensions: 13.5 x 6.5 x 3.5 inchesIssues:-Paul Yafees bracket didn't work for this amp.-Couldn't mount it on the side because I installed speakers there.Fix:-I opted to cut the top of the original radio bracket but in doing so, it dawned on me to just cut it half way and then bend it down. This served as a natural bracket on top of the aftermarket radio with about a half inch gap between the radio and the amp.See pictures.

100 watts is 100 times the FUN! I bought an alpine mini @45 per ch. and didn't like its power. So I grabbed this and now my Focal 165AS are happy, as are my Polk DXi's. SO for around $425.00 all in ($250 front Focals, $85.00, Polks, $100 SoundStream, $20.00 8awg Boss amp kit) only used the (remote, power and ground wire) and used home grade speaker wire I had around. A client of mine payed $3,500.00 for a custom install of Digital Design setup (great stuff but why throw cash away, its just car audio). He was kinda sad when we sat side by side and compared the same song and they were for all intents the same. The extreme clarity of the Focals and its ability to carry great lows for a 6.5" mid woofer is unparalleled. I would post a pic but theres nothing to see, the amp fit up and behind my head unit (Pioneer FH -X720BT sale $90.00:) in the dash of my 2006 tundra double cab. I also built a small 6.5" sub box tuned to 32hz and bought a PYLE 6.5" subwoofer for $12.88, when my friend heard the lows on that with pretty good clarity he just shook his head and walked away:) Also used Frost King peel and stick insulation for sound deadening, 2 rolls for 4 doors $40.00:) Happy hunting putting your system together, going to return my alpine amp and get my $165.00 back:)
