Great for brows!
After several years of paying $10/month for the lady at the nail salon to spend 2 minutes ripping off a few millimeters of hair, I decided I had enough and didn't want to waste that time and money anymore. I spent some time googling "how to wax your own eyebrows" and the general consensus seemed to be that using freeform hot wax is more effective than the strips. This had great reviews so I took the plunge.PROS:- Value. The box contains a small metal pot resembling a 1/2 cup measuring cup filled to the brim with wax. It also contains a small vial of Azulene Oil for post-wax treatment, and some wooden sticks for stirring/applying. With doing my eyebrows alone, this stuff could probably last me well over a year. (With both the wax and oil, don't overdo it! I actually used the cap of the oil vial to collect and dispense oil on my brows, a little goes a LONG way.)- Customization. As I said, I heard that using freeform wax as opposed to strips is nice since you can create your own shapes more easily. I actually used a sharpened eyeliner pencil to trace the shape I desired first, then applied the wax along the lines and in all areas surrounding my shape. Then just rip it off, apply some oil and you're good! I'm excited to keep playing with my brow shape in this way.CONS:- Directions are sparse. It comes with a huge sheet of directions but it's only really tiny columns in multiple languages. I definitely would have Google ready for backup if this is your first time. I wasn't 100% clear from the directions alone how to heat and apply. Also, it comes with a little vial of Azulene Oil, as mentioned above, which is not mentioned anywhere in the instructions so I had no clue at first what its purpose was.- The applicators kind of suck. It basically comes with popsicle sticks and tongue depressors. I just used those for stirring the heating wax, then applied to the brow lines using an old pen that had run out of ink. I can't imagine working with such a precise area with a popsicle stick.- Not microwaveable like some other waxes, since the pot holding it is metal. I heated mine on the stovetop, which worked because I have a smoothtop, but the tiny pot might have trouble balancing on coils. I also had the problem of not wanting it to re-harden too quickly so I ended up putting it on the low heat setting and dashing between the kitchen and the bathroom mirror to apply.- Going off of that, the wax STINKS. It has a really weird smell I wasn't expecting. (It's also green when applying which makes for fun selfies.) I did this before I made myself dinner and, considering I had it heating on my stovetop, I definitely lost my appetite. It's worth the results but definitely more pungent than I realized.- I got a little carried away after loving my brow results and slathered the stuff all over my armpit. TERRIBLE DECISION. I didn't Google tips for armpit waxing and had a lapse of judgement in how sensitive my pits are. It was miserable to get off, painful and slow. I used half a bottle of olive oil mixed with the salt of my tears. Probably won't do that again, or if I do, I'll proceed with CAUTION.Final review: It is a very basic waxing product and may require getting some additional questions answered online. It's not as easy as walking into the salon and having someone else do it professionally but it's also truly not at all difficult and not as scary as I imagined home-waxing to be. (I imagined some would drip down my face and I'd lose half a brow and an eyeball.) Despite the cons I listed, I'd still give it five stars because it is effective and will save me dozens of minutes and dollars every year.I did NOT receive this product free or at a discount for my honest, unbiased review. Feel free to contact me if you are interested in me reviewing your product with such a deal. For now, I'll just keep giving my two cents while rocking my fierce brows. B)

A review of the most Awesome Hair Removal Wax known to (Wo)man.
So I was a little intimidated when I opened the package. It Contains two large popsicle sticks, a small one that looks like it's for the miniature ice creams, instructions in every language known to man, the soothing after oil and a little metal pot of wax that looks like it belongs in a camping kit. I was kind of bummed that I wouldn't be able to heat it up in the microwave, but I read the instructions for the stove (there's also instructions for a hot plate.) And it was simple. You put it on the burner on low until half of the wax is melted and then you take it off and start working it's magic. When I say magic, I mean Magic. I bought this wax for the little straggly chin hairs (peach fuzz and dark coarse ones), my upper lip hairs and potentially when I'm confident enough, my eyebrows. I typically Shave/Tweeze the hair on my face (The dark ones). But I'm getting too old for that mess and I want it all off at once and quickly. I've tried Sally Hansen's facial wax (All of them... the strips you warm up in your hands, the wax you microwave), All of the Nair available and basically any lightening cream or hair removal you can buy at Walmart. They're all a pain, messy and do a mediocre job as pulling/removing/vanishing the hair. I remember waxing with the Microwave wax and it would only pull off every other hair and the wax was very...cheap...flimsy.But Parissa Strip free wax is The Business! (a.k.a. The Bomb, Legit, For Real, The Best) After I heated up my cute little Camping stove pot of wax (it really is cute, like easy bake oven cute) I quickly took it to my bathroom, successfully without tripping and spilling it everywhere. And I stirred it up with an included popsicle stick. I hesitated because I knew it would be hot, but I wasn't sure if the entire pot needed to be melted as well. After a minute I got tired of waiting so I slathered it on my lip and chin. It was warm and I'm glad I waited a minute. I ripped it off when it was cool but still movable like putty, and Holy Cow did it pull the hair. I inspected one piece of wax I pulled from the side of my lip and it got all the little peach fuzz, it even got two thick dark hairs that I didn't even see on my face!! This wax feels like the kind you would get at a salon or spa. It feels like real grown-up wax.For people with sensitive skin, I do recommend trying a patch somewhere because there is some sort of essential oil in it, some sort of fragrance, like a pine tree or eucalyptus oil or something. So if scents irritate your skin, beware. But otherwise BUY THIS PRODUCT.Also, Please people, don't be a dummy and misuse this product and burn yourself. Put your common sense caps on and think about how hot the wax and camping stove wax pan might be before you touch it or apply it. There is no "Safety thermometer" and it will be Hot, hence the name "Hot Wax" I would hate for one of you to get burned, sue the company for damages and the company ruin this product by changing the formula or something for "Safety Purposes". Please be smart, don't ruin hair free fun for everyone!!

messy but works.
I have horrible course hair on my jawline and neck and needed to try a new way to get rid of it. I tried a few different things including lazer hair removal that cost a lot of money and only lasted a year:( So I was back to shaving it off or tweezing it. I used this about 4 days ago and it worked well. It did not get everything but it got most. I only have minor hair growth coming in and most of the hair that is coming back is thinner. There are sections that still have no hair coming back:) I normally have to tweeze or use a power razer daily so this is great. I am hoping with continued use it will start coming in slower. I only did used it on my neck, brow, jawline and upper lip. The upper lip is not a huge issue normally but it got all the hair and after 4 days nothing is coming in. I did have one spot that bleed a little but redness went away within 30 minutes. Brows were nearly impossible to do. The wax was hard to get on evenly. the areas I could get worked but O will not do them again. Jaw line worked great. I only have a little hair growing back. Neck was my big problem area and the area with the most missed spots. Part of that could be because it was the first area I tried and it took me a little time to get use to using this stuff. I have some hair growing back ranging from course to soft hairs but still less than normal. My neck was red for about 45 minutes and I had a few red bumps the next day but not as many as I get tweezing. After I try this again I will post updates. I have to get a warming plate. It took a long time for this to warm up on the stove and I have to keep running back to the bathroom to use it and then back to the kitchen to warm it up again. The wax also was a little messy to use. A huge plus for me was it did not smell at all. I have trouble with smelly stuff and this did not have any. I will use again.
