INSTRUCTION 1.For first use Spread out the mat and open the valve to allow it to inflate for a while . Close the valve ,folded repeatedly ,open the valve again after pressing on mat several times which can make the mat self-inflate till full inflated . 2.How to inflate Spread out the mat and open the valve to allow it to self-inflating . Close the valve tightly while the mat has full inflated . Adjust the air presure inside till is comfortable . The pillow should be inflated by mouth . 3.How to deflate Open the valve ,roll the mat tightly from the opposite side of the valve , then close the valve . If there is still much air in the mat ,please repeat the step 3.1 (during rolling ,do not open the valve) . 4.Notice Leave away from sharp things . Don¡¯t expose the mat under sunlight when inflated for too long time in high temperature .

Did not inflate by itself; I had to blow it up manually. Not that comfortable either. This was an overpriced pool float.
