Professional Audio Bluetooth Power Amplifier - 2-Channel Rack Mount Bridgeable, LED Indicators, Shockproof Binding Posts, Cooling Fans 1000 Watt - Pyle PTA1000

The cheapest most cost effective amp of which I am aware. Hint it's not a 90 pound 1980s model crown macro tech that'll run a stadium speaker. If you have a peavey sp2g with black widow drivers you should know better than to approach that speaker with this amplifier. What are you thinking. But, the way they have modern stadiums with smaller speakers in the bleachers. Oh yeah this amp could work with those. Never let subwoofer enter your pretty little head with this amp. Think 1970s Honda civic. Just not made to be a truck truck. It's light inexpensive and You could lift it out of a tight parking space so whenever it was big enough to carry what you need it's the go to. I use mine for: Monitors Blown powered speaker- I drop in a passive crossover and a jack plate and use one of these amps. Tops to the main system when using a high crossover point. Like you want the subs carrying the lows and low mids if you're aiming this amp to the audience. This amplifier is little light and darn near disposable. I have several of these. I send these if I'm loaning out a regular pa speaker. You can run one ok pa speaker ok with this amp. Not stellar but pretty good. I've got a DJ using one of these right now. I've got a keyboard player without an amp. I've got plenty of extra passive speakers. He gets this amp and a speaker for his keyboard amp and he's happy as a clam. I make it a point to run one of these whenever its powerful enough. I carry one of these extra for whenever I need to engage unplanned for speaker at an event. I usually run more powerful amplifier as this isn't enough for my mains or subs and I run to many monitors most gigs for this to handle. To put this amplifier into my main system I have to change the load. Like working with smaller people. They'll work just can't carry what big people carry. It's not a powerful amplifier. It's good for what it's good for at an excellent price.

For the price, this unit is unbeatable. No, you won't get stadium level volume out of this unit, but it gives you more than enough for a small venue, a wedding reception, or a small town festival in the park. Set this up with some 12" Yamaha speakers as a supplement to our flown speaker in our church and it works seamlessly with the volume level set at about 80% for both channels. Easy to use and setup, not too heavy or bulky, and fits easily into a rack if we ever need to go that route. Can't recommend it enough. Only ever had good experiences with Pyle products.

I am quite impressed with this amplifier for the low price it has. I am currently using it to run a speaker system in my room(for movies, music, and video games). One channel is dedicated to powering an 8" 400 watt subwoofer at 4 ohms and the 500 watts of power is perfect for this. The second channel is used to power 2 JVC satellite speakers for upper frequencies. They are 8 ohm so really the amplifier can go 250 watts max with them. This system sounds very good for movies as the subwoofer can recieve a lot more power(those store-bought surround sound packages generally come with an underpowered subwoofer) thus the bass frequencies are excellent. For music I reccomend using an ipod or pc connected to the amplifier, that way you will be able to pre-amplify the audio signal and get the RMS value just right. I have tried using a flash drive plugged into my xbox 360 connected to the amplifier for music, but the speaker system is way underpowered as you can't pre-amplify the audio using this method. Anyway, this amplifier works great for the application I am using it for. I can imagine it would work great for applications such as live sound, PA speaker power, etc. I almost forgot to say this, for the inputs it accepts either 2 cannon male inputs, or 2 1/4" male mono jack inputs. For outputs you can use either the three conductor speaker jacks, or the 4 binding posts to connect speaker wire directly to the amplifier. This amplifier is bridgable, so you can get 1000 watt max power output by using the middle conductor speaker jack(it is labeled) or by connecting the speaker wire to the 2 positive binding posts(no negative involved). If you need 1000 watts of power for a particular application then this amp is great for the price and I highly recommend it. Hope this review helped.

This is a June 2014 review. Me: I am an avid audiophile. I know what good speakers driven by a class A vacuum tube amp can produce. That's the gold standard for this review. I went into it on a budget and with eyes wide open, didn't have $500 or more to spend on an amp, especially an amp that would promise ridiculous wattage and not deliver. This replaced an expensive name brand home theater amp that was supposed to be a 750 watt unit but really only delivered a tiny fraction of that per channel. I believe from the other reviews complaining about fan noise and such that I might have got a new and improved model of this amp... I have a Pyle 40 and another 15 watt per channel stereo amp that cost peanuts and have stood the test of time. First - my purpose was to drive a couple good speakers from the 70's rated at 160 REAL watts continuous and 500 peak, to comfortable room filling volume - both for musical use and as a public address system on occasion at our business. I wanted clean sound and a lot of it, but for me a clean REAL 100 watts per channel would be plenty. Next - this pup's a commercial unit - so it has NO RCA connectors. You'll need an adapter cable to hook up to a source. Either phono or XLR to RCA. Next - there's only really one input and no mixing. So for one source, one set of speakers, you're good. Otherwise you'll need a mixer or some similar device to select inputs. The results: I got a clean two channel stereo output feeding it with a clean input. I'm using 8 ohm speakers with success, and I can't relate experience on 4 ohm - but I'd probably not try running 4 ohm speakers with this thing based on my sense of what it is, and the other reviews. As for power output, 1000 Chinese watts is equal to a claim of 500x2 watts at 4 ohms is equal to 250x2 at 8 ohms, says the ad. Reality: with speakers rated at 8 ohms, and half rated power, the thing will probably be longer lived. Sound wise, at full clean output (clipping light on the amp flickers maybe once in 10 seconds) it sounds and feels like a good clean 75-100 watts should with those speakers. In years gone by I've driven them with 500 watt per channel vacuum tube amplifiers, and the feel is about right for 75-100 watts. Provided you don't plan to use the 4 ohm speakers, provided you don't plan to hook it up and let it rip full power regardless of the distortion, provided you don't plan to treat it like a crazed teenager - and provided it doesn't commit suicide all by itself - it works fine. The amp I got is clean sounding, the fans only come on at higher power levels, are they are inaudible against any reasonable musical material except for something with periods of dead silence. Even then, not all that bad. Those listening to the system have said "what fan?" Out of the box, no hum, no surprises. Do plan to turn it down before turning it on or off. Upshot: Good as anything I've heard since the early 90's, if your intention is to run real speakers at decent volume with enough headroom to sound right. If taking your chances for under $100 in the hopes of hitting the jackpot appeals to you, you have come to the right place. Oh, and it has no UL approval or any other approvals I can see. Caveat emptor!

Update 12/26/18 - Amp died and just makes loud distortion sound. Replacing. I am never sure when i order something that seems below the price point it should be - and in the case of this amp i must take the time to tell anyone else considering a basic amp that i am VERY happy with this one. Seems powerful and gets the job done. Note, I did use a pre amp with it as well to adjust the sound quality, the sound was fine with out the prepamp, but i like it to be a little crisper and deeper base. I am using it for home audio, the input is a itunes airport express. Works great so far. I am going to buy a few more for more zones in our building now that i know it works as good as it does.

3 stars for this hundred dollar doo-hickey ... remember, if it dies, fuggedaboutit & don't even attempt to obtain a schematic to repair or mod it yourself, unless you are a circuit guru, because it is not publically available. Also, fuggedabout sending it in for repair as postage paid is on you & most likely, you will recieve a working unit that is not the one you sent on your dime, but some rando, serial numbered unit ... ... However, the chassis is very well built to be in a 19" rack space environ, w/an actual copper-wound donut toroidal transformer & a better than decently designed output transistor aluminium heat sink & rear fan cooling air-flow from front to back. It's a hundred bucks because the interior parts are bottom quality, but surprisingly clean sounding in idle mode w/the volume pots on full. ... Thank u 4 reading ny 2cents on this amp.

I purchased this item to DJ a small wedding reception. It worked perfectly fine on a pair of 15"s 300w rms speakers. I'm not stupid enough to really try to push 1000 watts out of that amp so with my little setup it worked great with amp power to spare. Im just about to buy one more of these for another gig with a larger amount of space to go with a second pair of 15"s. Before you buy any amp make sure you do your homework and know the difference between rms watts and max watts, make sure you know the differences between 2ohms, 4ohms, 8ohms etc. I mean really, who advertises an amps rms power? So is this really a 1000 watt amp? Yes you can get 1000 watts max out of it, but I don't think you would get to enjoy your amp for long if you push it that hard. This is a great amp for the money if you use it properly. Update!! I bought two more. They're reliable so far. My first one runs flawless over more than a year now so I decided to get two more since I bought a pair of PADH152 double 15 inch Pyle speakers. Hmmm. I run one amp on each bridged. Seems like I have too much power for the crappy speakers. I'm going to replace the woofers with real ones but. oh yeah I'm reviewing the amps. They're great and powerful. Love em. Great amp for the price and simply a great amp all around. I just wish Pyle could simply be honest about their wattage ratings. It seems like they have some third world rating system. To me, 20 American Watts equals 100 Pyle watts.

I used this in conjunction with a pyle pa speaker and made sort of a portable (heavy) bluetooth radio. Long story short when bridged connected to the 8ohm speaker with 8" woofer and 3x7" bullhorn tweeter it sounded like a concert even with earplugs in which is what I need because I work in a fast paced incentive job in a foundry. Operating loud machinery drowns out even powerful radios. I am sure this will drown out the machinery 😂 The bluetooth worked flawlessly and with volume down does not have a voice at all or tones when connecting. I didn't hear a loud fan so I wonder how loud these people even have their speakers. You wouldn't be able to hear a fan at all with earplugs, and even with earplugs in I was getting most of the sound in my chest. Very impressed. The highs were piercing without distortion and the lights correspondence with levels and potential clipping worked perfectly in my opinion. I hope it holds up but so far color me impressed. :)
