small issues with dated information, overall an excellent resource for home use with herbs

The original hippie herb book. He introduced me to the concept of self help way back in the '60's. Contains an enormous amount of good information. But, be warned, the recipes aren't easily followed. A lot of his suggestions are a major pain in the A. Even if you don't implement his ideas, the book will at least alert you to the fact that there are good alternatives to big pharma's convenient but dangerous drugs. I bought the updated edition which has a lot of interesting stuff written by his kids and has had some of the more baffling portions corrected and updated. It's a classic.

Awesome read. My mother turned me onto this book decades ago, it's filled with tons of invaluable knowledge. Glad to have it in digital format for my tablet.

I have used the book since 1978. Dr. Kloss had 40 years of experience treating a wide variety of illnesses with natural medicine. You do need to separate some medical myths of the era from your reading, but his knowledge of herbs and natural foods was excellent.

I got my first copy of this in the late sixties and raised my children using Mr. Kloss advice and instruction. Jethro Kloss had to be the first person to extoll the virtues of soy milk! In the forward Mr. Kloss children explain they have rearranged some topics so the material is more cohesive. This is my bible whenever I have a question about herbs or health.

Everyone should read this book! We have had this book in paperback, the original til pages started falling out and we still have it!. I got the paperback for my husband and Kindle version for myself! God gave us the ability to take care of ourselves naturally and this books tell you how.
