The perfect vacuum for apartments
After three years, our old vacuum cleaner gave up the ghost in a puff of smoke. Sadly, we took to Amazon in the hopes of finding a new cleaner. We bought this one because the price is beyond right (Under $100 for a vacuum cleaner? Uh, ya. Awesome.), but also because the reviews were really great. We were, of course, skeptical and when we got it we tried it out and it did well. We were impressed for such a little thing. We eventually moved into our current apartment which is 1280 square feet and despite having two dogs, a cat and a baby on the way this thing works so well that the things it gets out of my carpet almost terrifies me. Who knew my dogs shed that much? So here are some pros and cons of the cleaner.Pros:- Picks up dog and cat hair out of carpet like none other.- Cleans really well and quickly, which we found out after taking down our Christmas tree.- Really compact and light. In my ninth month of pregnancy I can easily lift this up and move it around with no trouble.- Easy to assemble and very few moving parts. Less for you to break!- The hose quickly and easily sucks up dog hair that is in the carpet.- Like I've said before it works really really well. Perhaps too well.Cons:- You have to empty it pretty often because it is that good.- You have to remove the filter in order to dump the stuff from the cleaner out.- The extendable hose does not go that far.- The unit is pretty short. All in all, I would say this vacuum cleaner is a great purchase. It's perfect for the price and it does a great job with animal hair. The biggest downside to it is you find out what's in your carpet and that can be pretty gross.

Small and powerful
I was looking for a small, powerful and inexpensive vacuum cleaner, and this is EXACTLY what I got with Dirt Devil Dynamite. I was looking to replace my old stick-type vacuum cleaner which was okay for hardwood, but just too weak to pick up anything from carpet.I already have a fairly large carpet steamer which I regularly use. I didn't want another clunky machine to take up very expensive square footage in my house. I also paid quite a bit for that steamer, so I didn't want to shell out for a vacuum as well. However, I did want a vacuum cleaner with some power to it.1) SMALL: The first thing that caught be by surprise is how remarkably small this vacuum cleaner is. I think the lady in the picture is rather short because the canister part hardly even reaches my kneecaps! Size-wise it almost looks like a child's toy!2) ASSEMBLY: There's virtually no assembly required. Just snap in the handle and it's good to go.3) POWERFUL: It picked up incredible amounts of dust, dust bunnies, crumbs and hair on my carpets which were freshly steam-cleaned just days earlier!4) SIMPLE: There's one on/off button, a snap button to detach canister to empty it. Sturdy paper filter. It has a stretch hose. To lock it straight up, just lean it forward. Lean backwards to unlock. Handle is retractable if you want to store it, or if you want your kids to exercise their vacuuming muscles!5) STORAGE: This cleaner just slides under the bed for storage. And I mentioned how important my storage issue is!6) PRICE: I would expect this performance from a $120 machine, but for $54 this is such a steal.7) DOWNSIDE: This cleaner is not self-propelled. You have to apply some force to push it forward. Not a deterrent for me, but might be an issue for some customers. If you have mobility problems or more significant physical limitations, you might want to consider a self-propelled vacuum over this one. More expensive cleaners will have rotating wheels which makes the cleaner slide over carpet easily.There. I hope this was useful. Happy cleaning!

Good suction!
This vacuum is not very big,but do you need a SUV? The suction is so good it pulls up a lot of the probably cheap (new) carpet in my apartment. It sucks more of the carpet than i see dust! Suction is NOT a problem if youre on the edge with this one!The bagless container... Small particles or powders do get wedged inside the crevices and grooves on the opening from the vacuum to the container. Say if you get carpet powder scent/deodorizer... It will pick it up,but when emptying your vacuum container you will see a lot of power along the grooves! I also felt that I felt some of the powder being pumped back out of the vacuum! I will no longer use that product(the scent powder)on my rug! Other than that problem the vacuum is very good! I am sure you might be able to get better, but you will not be dissatisfied with your purchase! The cord is very long for this smaller vacuum so that is good! The hose (that comes with one brush attachment) does not suck that well though which is funny because I do not find the suction on the floor vacuum to "weak" like i do the hose!My only "problem"/draw back......The bagless container isnt very big. It fills(but I am sure its my rug as i stated) too quickly! Though it still sucks great when it is half way filled with the contents (dust/dirt/CARPET) though because the container is smaller the contents do not flow around inside, they stick or slow to almost no movement, but it still sucks up the dirt!Cleaning the filter needs to be done outside by a garbage! I use gloves and a old toothbrush! It does get dusty/dirty!Its a buy if you need something for a mid-sized to small apartment that has wall to wall carpeting! Great on hard floors and would probably be best one an area rug!Scores High on....1)Suction2)The length of the power cord3)Mobility4)WeightScores Low on...1)Hose suction2)Bagless container (its not thaaat small, but its a smaller vacuum so what do you expect?)

Thing has some pretty decent suction for a vacuum in this price range
The motor driven brush was the clincher for me on this one. Thing has some pretty decent suction for a vacuum in this price range. For my one bedroom apartment this thing is perfect. Cord length is pretty nice too. Easy to empty the dust container and brush off the filter between uses. Snaps in place very securely. Well built vacuum.

Would not recommend for use in tile or for attachments
Pro:Adjustable handle/heightLightweightEasy to maneuverCons:Not much suction for hose/attachmentsKicks back dirt and dust when in tile floorDoesn't adjust enough (supposed to be automatic) to be used effectively on tile.I bought this for use in tile floors. I wanted this instead of a stick vac because I wanted the hose and attachment options. Unfortunately that is where this unit is the most lacking. There is adequate suction when using it as an upright, although it kicks out dust and dirt from the bottom of the machine. But when you are using the hose, there is hardly any suction. Makes it pretty useless for my needs. Very disappointed.

Five Stars
Great suction. Easy to empty. Works on hardwood floors without scratching or carpet. Great value for the money.

Worth it.
Great little vacuum. We've only used on carpet, but it works really well on our area rug, floor mats and hall runner (all low pile carpet). We have small children and it does a good job of picking up lots of dirt/hair/food crumbs, etc. My only issue is it doesn't glide really smoothly, so when using on smaller/lighter carpet like floor mats it tends to pull the corners of the mat back. Still, for the price and how well it cleans it's a great buy.

Nothing spectacular but has good suction
This vacuum is powerful and has good suction on carpet. It does a great job picking up all debris and pet hair. However, when the canister needs to be emptied I found that most of the debris/dust bunnies get stuck and can't get past the filter to get emptied. This results in banging the canister against the garbage can or removing the filter, both of which get dander/dust everywhere and hands dirty. I also found this vacuum hard to push against the pile of the rug. If pushed in the direction the carpet pile lays it glides easily, but I think the strong suction makes it more difficult the opposite way, I have to use both hands. The cord is long so that is helpful, I wish it would have self-rewind since it is long and constantly wrapping it up gets annoying as I have to vacuum daily. It does ok for the price but for me who vacuums everyday it's lacking in convenience.
