PANRR830 - Analog Standard Cassette Recorder/Transcriber Model RR830

I'm the Recording Secretary for a small Home Owners Association in a senior community. We needed a new tape recorder for our monthly meetings so I called the Town Clerk to see what kind they use for their Council meetings. She told me about the Panasonic and said they have six in Town Hall they use in different departments. I did have to order a microphone separately from Panasonic. The recorder worked like a charm, picked up everything very clearly and is very easy to use. The only problem I had was locating 90 minute tapes. Most stores in my area carry 60 and 120. I would highly recommend this recorder. I'm very satisfied.

Very few choices if one wants to listen to audiobooks from a library on cassette tape at a higher speed, so this one appeals for that use. It's very well constructed, being made for office work before the age of digital recordings. Most useful feature is the auto motor shutoff at the end of a tape. Many cassette players don't shut off and the motor continues to turn at the end of a tape. This one works. There is a variable pitch slider to compensate for playing the tape at a faster speed.

I worked in the document processing department of a prestigious law firm in New York and transcribed many tapes a few years ago so when I needed a transcriber for personal use, I knew just what I was looking for. Recently I volunteered to transcribe my pastors' sermons and this machine works beautifully. I am glad I decided to invest in the Panasonic I purchased. I am sure it will last just as long as the ones I used in the document processing center.

Picture shows headphones. Does not come with headphones. Delivery kept getting delayed. I did buy it used, and it was treated as being used.

I am quite a fickle - but very loyal - customer and when I find a product or service that meets my needs I work with it until the last bell tolls. I worked with this machine almost 20 years ago, and was so pleased with it that I put out an APB on it for use in our small home-base business. Imagine my delight when it popped up on Amazon.com at a most favorable price. I was so happy that bought it out right. Still going strong after all these years - and no, the Dictaphone is not obsolete by any definition of the word. What attracted me to this model was the fact that it carries both mini and standard cassettes, a counter, and the ability to set the number of words your pedal will present when you go fast forward or backward. Well worth the price I paid - and it's still in use in my business, even after this may years.

IT WORKS, IT'S A LIFE SAVER. THIS OFFICE STILL USES THIS "TECHNOLOGY." WAS HAPPY TO FIND ANOTHER TRANSCRIBER.

I have used this transcriber for the past 10 years. When mine finally broke I went on a hunt to find a replacement. Amazon was the only place I could find this product. It is "old school" but works very well. I use it approximately 6-8 hours per month to transcribe meeting minutes. The microphone has good range. Would highly recommend this if you can find one.

This product worked very well and was in very good condition. It was a great value compared to all the others I looked at. My wife used it to complete a college class and liked it a lot. We were able to resell it to another student in the next class and recover about half of our cost.

So glad to be able to purchase Panasonic RR-830 Cassette Transcriber. It's a great machine. Haven't been able to use this one very much but hope it will work for a long time to come. However, the earphone protection fabric has deteriorated and fallen into pieces. How can I get this replaced? Also, is there some way I can get this Transcriber to play back cassettes that have been recorded on the "double" mode. Presently they cannot be understood. 15 August, 2020 ---- The recorder is not working - I would like to talk with someone to see what to do ===whether It is malfunctioning or is it something I'm not doing. Please advise
