Does this brand contain wheat starch? i have one by lg that does contain wheat powder.

I bought the LG asafoetida, too, and it does indeed list wheat starch on the label. I use this powder in more and more recipes - of course, as you know, a little pinch goes a long way!

How quickly does this take to relieve gas pains, when made into a paste with small amount of water and put in and spread around the belly button?

As long as you don't eat anymore after doing the belly spread, it should take about 24-48 hours. Or you could just not eat anything for 24-48 hours and skip the strange ritual described above and have the same results -no more gas pains.

The ingredients listed here say only hing and fenugreek? Does it wheat as well?

I ordered this, and the ingredients are: Gum Arabic, Maida (bleached wheat flour), Asafoetida. The Maida content is listed as 30%. Hope this helps. For what it's worth, I ordered this on Amazon and it was much fresher than the stuff I can get locally. It came directly from India and was great. Very strong smell, wonderful for curries.
