I have had a couple of magnifying lamps in the past and neither was any good, the lens was small and they would not stay in place. Also the mount was not the best. One of them also had a lens cover that would never stay open when in use.My eyes are no good and I got tired of trying to hold a magnifying glass under a desk lamp trying to do other things at the same time. I started looking at a lot of desk magnifying lamps and chose this one. It is a little longer than expected, but no problem. In fact, it may be a benefit.What I really like is the whole setup. It has a metal clamp so it will stay mounted. The arms are internally spring loaded and what is really great is that the lamp will stay where ever you put it! It has a nice range and the head will tilt, swivel, you name it. The light is nice and bright too. It is also LED which means it will last for a very long time. The lens is 5 inch diameter and real glass. Magnification is 1.75, which is as strong as needed for most applications.Overall, the lamp is very well constructed. I choose white to match my desk. I'm happy I finally found a magnifying desk lamp that really works! Honestly, I have only had it for a day so far, so we will see how it holds up, but I can say right out of the box it is better than all the others I have had.Highly recommend.

In 1000 years, when archaeologists dig up the remains of my house, this light will still be intact and the light will still be working! This magnifying light is the real deal. The arm is super flexible and moves easily. The mounting bracket is easy to use and stable. You will need to attach to a steady surface that is an appropriate width to clamp down. The light is super bright and the magnifier is more than efficient. There is a shade that can be lowered over the magnifying glass turning it into a lamp. It is easy to install and use and super efficient. Not that I will ever need to replace it but this brand has earned my business from now on.

Bought this for my sister in law as a gift. She does nail art and always had to crouch down and squint when doing intricate designs. There is definitely a learning curve but once you get it down the results are fabulous! Nice and sturdy, the head doesn’t become to heavy and tilt on you, I like that it has a cover for the magnifying glass when not in useSo dusty doesn’t accrue.

Love this light! So bright and the magnifier in the center is such a good idea! No need for readers when using this light. I can see more details than edith my readers. Used for clipping nails, doing jewelry, even seeing a mite for the first time. The feature of having a cover is great too especially with such a bright light... you can keep light down focused and so not as bright in the room.

Works great. Light is bright and magnification is perfect. I use it for needlepoint and is just what I needed.

Does the job I intended for a decent price

Omg I love this lamp! I haven’t needed to use the magnifier portion yet, but I’m glad it’s there just in case. The light is very bright and easy on the eyes. The installation was easy, but fair warning this light and arm is heavy! But within good reason for its quality. Just make sure when you clamp it to something, it’s very sturdy.

This desk light has been super helpful. I occassionally need to do fixes on my camera lenses and the magnifying glass with light is super helpful. The suspention system is very sturdy and stays as positioned. Theres a lot of custom movement thanks to the ball joint on the head, it's a big step up from the older light it replaced.I have noticed that when I take recordings under this light, it creates horizontal bands of light and shadow that migrate up the screen.
