Matte Clay Pomade

This is a much thicker pomade than the Black Widow I was using, As a result, this pomade make my hair look thicker and more full. My fine hair does not fly away when I move around. The scent is neither masculine or feminine, and has a clean, fresh smell. If it proves to wash out easily and wears well all day, I will edit my post.

This product is incredibly thick and on the "dry" side (hence the clay in the title). It recommends taking a very small amount, rubbing between your hands (palms) and then using on your hair. I needed more than a very small amount as once I rubbed it in my hands, it kinda disappeared and I needed to get more. I was careful when applying to my bangs and crown, as this product could have the tendency to be too heavy and stick. I was pleased to work it into the crown area and there, it provided some oomph without feeling heavy or gunky. What I like about the scent is that it's somewhat of a mystery to my smell... it is not floral (which I am extremely sensitive to with real physical reactions)... it is not chemical (same kind of reaction), but I guess I would describe it as "earthy"... that I didn't have ANY sinus, head, or breathing reaction is a positive. Clearly, a little of this goes a LONG way to work into your hair. I would recommend starting into the roots on the sides and back and crown of your head so that you don't coat the outer layers and go light & easy on your bangs. I fear that if I used enough to discourage my long hair to frizz/fly-away... it would be too much product and be too heavy. Since I usually let my hair "air dry" (except for crown/bangs), my hair is just going to flyaway & get some frizz...that's the trade-off for quick and easy. After a while, the scent dissipates and leaves just a light, clean scent (that doesn't annoy me in the least)

I’ve been using Mystic Botanicals Matte Clay for over a month. So far, it’s been a great experience. It is not oily, holds the hair firmly throughout the day, smells nice and fresh. It does come out easily when I wash my hair, even after the next day. I’d highly recommend this product.

I normally use layrite matte clay but needed a smaller package for my travel bag. This product fit the bill with a 2 oz container, worked well and has a nice scent.

Smells great but was too greasy for my short hair

I use this in my children's hair occasionally. It's not my favorite thing to use, though. It's super thick and I have to rub it in my hands to warm it up. I'm not fond of the feeling of it. It's hard to get it just right and it tends to pull at the hair when putting it in, too. It does tame their hair a bit, though, so it works. I like the scent of it, too. It's gender neutral, so my little guys don't feel like I'm putting "girly" stuff on them. It's not overwhelming, but it's definitely noticable. I'm sensitive to scents, but this one doesn't bother me. When I put it in my children's hair, the scent lingers on my hands, even after washing multiple times. If you don't like the scent, that's a definite negative.

Smells decent, easy to work through hair. Doesn't feel heavy.
