“The Cowboy Rides Away: Live from AT&T Stadium” (MP3 Version): one of the best recordings of a live concert I’ve ever heard.
I recently discovered George Strait/The Cowboy Rides Away: Live from AT&T Stadium DVD while I was browsing through the music section at Amazon.com. Being an ardent fan of country music in general and George Strait in particular, I immediately ordered both the DVD and MP3 audio version of the concert, figuring they would probably be pretty good…“Pretty good…” now THERE’S an understatement! I’ve already written a review of the DVD version of George Strait/The Cowboy Rides Away: Live from AT&T Stadium As I said in my review, I think it’s the best recording of a live concert that I’ve ever seen. But I can’t watch my DVD in my car, or while I’m working, or when I go out for walks. That’s where the audio recording comes in handy…The MP3 album of “The Cowboy Rides Away: Live from AT&T Stadium” contains 20 of the 40 songs that George Strait and his guest stars performed before 104,000 fans at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas in September 2014. Since nearly every song they sang that night was a veritable “George Strait greatest hit,” it’s clear to me that every song on the CD/MP3 album is a very good one indeed.By the way, I’ve now listened to “The Cowboy Rides Away: Live From AT&T Stadium” three times, using my Blu-ray player and home theater system. I think the audio quality of this recording is just fine, especially considering that all performers were standing on a rotating stage in the middle of a huge stadium with 104,000 cheering fans surrounding them. I don’t know whether or not “auto-tune” was used (and probably couldn't tell if it was), but if it was used, it certainly didn’t detract in any way from my overall enjoyment of the recording.I usually don’t buy audio recordings of live concerts, but I’m very glad I made an exception in this case. I have already loaded this outstanding album on my iPod, MP3 player, and two flash drives that I keep in my car. Believe me when I tell you I will be listening to “The Cowboy Rides away: Live from AT&T Stadium” a lot. Most highly recommended.

THE REASON HE'S "KING GEORGE"
This is now my favorite cd! I watched "Cowboy Rides Away" when it aired on t.v. and it was fabulous. This cd is like being there! The t.v. guide review mentioned the applause throughout, not in a real positive light, but that applause is part of the experience. The guests that sang on that show with George just walked up out of the audience/back of the stadium with no introduction and the crowd went wild every time, and as they sang together, George would just yell out "Eric Church, everybody", or "Miranda Lambert", and so on. My favorite duet on the show/cd is when he and Alan Jackson sing "Murder on Music Row". And when he began "Cowboy Rides Away", George said, "I almost hate to sing this song". Oh, the whole thing is just wonderful. I can't say enough how great it is. Buy it. You'll feel like you're there in the arena with him.

King George * The Cowboy Rides Away
George Strait The Cowboy Rides Away live from AT&T Stadium is awesome! This was George Strait's last tour show in Texas! There are a lot of Duets on the CD with a lot of top country artist that join George for his last show! It's a mix bag of some of his newer songs with a lot of older ones! Some of the stars that join George for this show are Alan Jackson, Miranda Lambert, Jason Aldean, Vince Gill, Martina McBride, & Kenny Chesney just to name few! Sound is outstanding on this CD to be a live CD!...

The best part was listening to how George Strait felt during ...
This CD is everything that I expected and more. The best part was listening to how George Strait felt during his final concert. The other stars really added to the atmosphere. I never tire of listening in my car.

Horrible Autotune
Horribly autotuned. I purchased it when it first came out, so there were no reviews on it yet. Whoever destroyed this needs to pay. Come out with an unedited version of the album. It was a live performance, let it be. Live performances are the best because they are raw and uncut. You hear the true music. All in all I like all the duets , but they butchered the sound on this. I gave it an extra star just because it is George.

great but not perfect
First of all let me begin by saying I thoroughly enjoy this album. I have listened to it track to track many times since buying it the day it came out. My favorite has to be Jackson with Martina McBride...but it's definitely not perfect. This is a collection of absolutely amazing songs, but it's not the complete show (to be expected). If you're on the fence about buying it I say wait for the deluxe edition which will add 8 more songs. The DVD will have the full 40 song set list (I can't wait). The other problem, like many already mentioned, is the auto tune. It's not noticeable on all the tracks, but there are some terribly affected. A Showman's Life, a song I didn't really appreciate until this album, is one of the affected. It's at its worst in Murder on Music Row unfortunately for Alan Jackson...someone killed country music indeed. Like I said, this is an incredibly fun album to listen to, but if you want a better taste of what live King George sounds like get yourself For the Last Time: Live From the Astrodome. Still giving it four stars though :)
