These work! We turned these on once and tested it with our Lab and now we don’t need to turn them on for him to stay off lol BUT he still tries to get on if we don’t put these back on when we leave for work. I’d recommend these 10x over

My male cat decided he would declare the hardwood floor, in the corner of the living room, his bathroom spot. After repeated offenses, and experimenting with options such as citrus sprays, and placing objects to block him; he kept coming back! Following one of his last visits to the corner, I cleaned the spot and placed a rather loud fan there to dry the floor that was beginning to warp. I noticed the cat stayed clear of the area only if the fan was on. He clearly didn’t like the sound, but neither did the rest of the rest of the family! We had to find a similar solution that would would use noise to keep him away, but only when he tried to enter the area. That’s when I found “Sofa Scram pads!” The cat tried to step on the area, the alarm sounded, and he scurried away faster than you could say his name! He made one more attempt weeks later, but as predicted; he ran away once the alarm sounded. This pad has also kept my other cat from entering the room to scratch the couch, which is an unintended benefit! I highly recommend this product for keeping cats away from any area you don’t want them in!

So far this has kept my 50lb heeler off our sofa and I'm thrilled! I bought the pack of 2 for the sectional about 2 weeks ago. Currently I'm just covering the other half of the sofa with other things to keep her off and testing out the other half with these mats.Problem we've had, is she does not get on the furniture when we are home but when we are not, she takes full advantage. I wouldn't care so much if she didn't "dig" at the sofa and shed as badly as she does. She's ripped up other blankets and such from her digging so we're trying preserve the sofa as long as possible. The sofa we have is microfiber and she leaves scratch marks all over it and licks spots leaving water ring marks. Then at the end of the day the couch will just stink of dog when she's been on it (despite brushing her and bathing) and I was getting very tired of having to clean it with a shampooer every few days or vacuum daily.I am hopeful that after a little while of them on the couch that we won't have to use forever, but if we do need to then they are lightweight and very easy to put on and take off when we want. The alarm it emits is loud and annoys her, she just puts a paw up on it, it beeps and she backs off promptly. I like that there are no collars that she has to wear, no shock or anything. So far it seems like a simple, safe deterrent that's working for us. We've made some cozy places for her in her kennel and an extra bed right up by the couch so she's not tucked away if she doesn't want to be.

Great idea to stop pets from climbing on sofa. The batteries last for ever since it only uses power when its goes off. Is pretty loud and can scare you in the middle of the night.

This is a useless product with no deterrent effect. My cat is definitely not the smartest cat i have come across but he outsmarted this device in a matter of minutes.. It makes the loudest piercing sound you can imagine anytime anyone or anything touches it except the cat. When the cat walks on it, nothing happened most of the time. In fact, my cat lays on it. It’s also not reliable; I purchased two of them and one is much louder and much more responsive than the other despite the fact that I put new 9V batteries from the same package in both. I am amazed this product has the reviews it does. Even if it did function properly, who wants to hear an extremely loud piercing siren noise every time the cat goes on the furniture?!?! Really nice touch when you are on the phone for work or have friends over. Even the few times it did work with the cat, it had no deterrent effect whatsoever, as he just walked around it or a few times he pushed it right off the sofa with his paws. He was having none of it!! Whoever conceived of this product must have a really really dumb cat or no cat.

These have worked great, our dog hates them and is no longer even attempting to get on the couch when we aren’t home. Easy to fold up and stow away.

These things work so well! We recently bought new leather couches and wanted to keep our dogs off of them. One of the dogs would wait til we went to bed and get on the couches every night and if we weren’t home. The first night we got these we heard the alarm shortly after we went to bed. We used them every night and she tried it again maybe a month later. I don’t alway have them turned on when I put them in there but if I leave the mats off the couch altogether she does get back on there. I was hoping that eventually she just wouldn’t get on the couches anymore. I would highly recommend them.Update: She no longer gets on the couch. I’m now using these on my tree skirts to keep our senior dog from lying on them. I wouldn’t mind but she “scratches” to make her bed and it was tearing them up. It’s been two days and as long as they are on the tree skirts she stays off of them. This would also work to keep dogs from tearing up your ornaments.
