Description misleading
I too saw the 200+ 5 star reviews all posted on the same day and I also noticed that the seller had only posted this item on amazon for roughly a week with all those reviews. I was definitely skeptical but I was wanting a cheap monocular for my trip to the Grand Canyon and thought I would give it a try for $25 and hope for the best. I received my package 1 day prior to leaving, it was well packaged and I thought the feel of the unit was nice and it fit my hand well. But it came with a really cheap tripod and phone holder (my phone would only fit if I took the case off, I have a Moto G5s Plus), but my lens was cracked :-( which created a bright spot on lens making it difficult to see. But knowing that I didn't have time to return it before I left, I decided to take it with me and maybe be able to view something with it.With my limited experience with magnification I know these are not 40x, but more along the lines of 7x. I compared them to a really old set of binoculars I have that are 7x35 and they were very similar. Once I returned from the Grand Canyon I decided to return the monocular as they weren't as advertised and not much good with a cracked lens.

Worst Purchase Ever. Really!
I would have to agree with Kaya King. I wish I had seen Kaya's review before I ordered. This product, while built well, is no where near being what it is advertised as. It says 40x60 which is 40x magnification, but in reality is no better if not worse than my 8x magnification binoculars. Like Kaya, I noticed that it had hundreds of good reviews, but failed to notice that all 216 of them were all submitted on exactly the same day, March 12th 2019, and listed only as an anonymous Amazon Customer with no actual link to a real buyer or user. The fact that the hundreds of phony reviews were submitted shows intent to defraud and cheat honest Amazon Customers. I sincerely regret this purchase and wish I had put my $25 toward a good spotting scope from a reputable company. Hope anyone planning on ordering this item reads Kaya's and my review before submitting an order. If you're only wanting a lower than average monocular that is 4-5 times less powerful than what is advertised, you may be happy if your expectations are low. But if you are hoping for a 40x magnification monocular as advertised, then be prepared to have less than one fourth the advertised power of magnification. Suitable for giving away to kids, but not suitable for any serious adult. If it had been described as a 10x power, which in itself is a stretch, it would be closer to an honest description. Honestly, I only gave it one star because there was no way to give it "0" stars, based mainly on the false advertising.******* UPDATE ********Since some of us have posted our reviews, the 216 fake reviews have all been removed. I do notice that there is still one anonymous "Amazon Customer" review that says "exactly as advertised". I'm not sure how they can say that, when the monoculars the rest of us have received are 10 power or less when they are advertised as 40 power. That one 5 star review serves to average out the other 1 star reviews to an overall higher rating. But as we stated earlier, it's not 40 power but probably about 7-10 power, like an average binocular at the most. Otherwise, build quality is satisfactory, but it has no zoom function. I'm not sending mine back, but keeping it to let the kids in the family use instead of our more expensive binoculars. It's fine for young kids who have no expectation of getting a 40 power unit as it was falsely advertised as.

False advertising and fake reviews
As you might notice (which I did not) the previous 300+ “5-star” reviews (at the time of my purchase) were all submitted anonymously on the same day without there being a “verified purchase.” What does that tell you? As to the specifics, it’s all “fake news” (false advertising). No way this is a 40x magnification scope. More like 10x or 12x - just like loads of others on Amazon. And the diameter of the main (objective) lens is not 60mm, more like 40mm. I have a pair of 15 x 35 Bushnell binoculars to compare. This scope gives a similar view as either scope on that Bushnell. Otherwise this would be an okay 10 x 40 scope, but it’s not what I wanted or needed. The seller should be banned from Amazon for putting up the fake reviews. And Amazon’s algorithms should have caught it.

Not as advertised
I ordered the product with the faith of 300+ 5 star positive reviews, only to realize that the description of the product is not at all the experience I had with the product I received. There is no low light setting, you can not change the zoom, and the phone mount to the scope is weak at best. I do not believe this seller to be honest, despite multiple attempts at contacting them I did not receive a response. I would not purchase this again.

Do not buy. False advertising!!
Buyer beware. I just saw the other 1 star review and the information for me was the same. This has even less zoom than my 10x50 binoculars, no way it's even close to our the advertised specs. Will be returning tomorrow!
