OXO Good Grips Prep Y-Peeler, Silicone

I have tried tons of peelers in the past and this brand/model has been my favorite by far. I ended up using our last one so much that it broke over many years of use and I immediately knew I wanted to buy this one again. The design of the peeler helps provide a good grip for the holder and has enough of a cushion feel that my hands don’t cramp while excessively using it. This peeler is quite sharp that I’ve only ever had to do one stroke on a produce item to peel that area which has helped save me time peeling food like carrots or potatoes. The peeler is easy to clean manually or can be put in the dishwasher. Overall, would recommend for anyone looking for a quality peeler.

I have been a loyal OXO potatoe peeler fan for years UNTIL I tried this one. I love the way this peeler allows me to go back and forth all in one easy and quick swipe and it's really comfortable to hold on to. I'm right handed and due to a botched neck surgery my right hand doesn't work well or hold things well but this peeler is super comfortable and just the right size. Since I can go back and forth with it, it has dramatically cut down the time it takes to peel potatoes, which I love because I normally hate peeling potatoes. It's sharp, quality, and gets the job done quickly.

I recently purchased the OXO Good Grips Prep Y-Peeler, and overall, I'm quite satisfied with its performance. This silicone vegetable peeler has a lot going for it, but there's one drawback worth noting. First and foremost, the peeler is incredibly comfortable to hold. The ergonomic design fits nicely in the hand, allowing for extended use without discomfort or hand fatigue. This is a significant plus, especially when tackling a large pile of vegetables. Moreover, the sharpness of the blade is impressive. It effortlessly glides through various fruits and vegetables, making the peeling process quick and efficient. You won't have to struggle with tough skins or rinds when using this tool. However, the only downside I found with this peeler is that it only works effectively in one direction – pulling to peel. Unlike some other peelers I've used, it doesn't work as well when pushed, which can be a bit frustrating. While this limitation isn't a deal-breaker, it would have been nice to have a bit more versatility in peeling direction. In summary, the OXO Good Grips Prep Y-Peeler is a comfortable, sharp, and efficient tool for peeling fruits and vegetables. It's a solid addition to any kitchen, but the one-direction limitation may bother some users. Despite this drawback, I still find it to be a valuable tool for my food preparation needs.

I did without a veggie peeler for many years, using a paring knife instead. Then I got hooked on watching cooking shows. I noticed this "style" of peeler was used a lot, so when I went shopping for a peeler I picked this one. The blade is universally left-hand, right-hand. It is very sharp. Peeling broccoli stems was literally effortless and very fast. I have not used the potato eye-remover on it yet - it's basically just an extension of the handle plastic and not very sharp, but I'm not concerned about that feature. The handle is very, very comfortable and secure, and I'm sure would be equally so no matter which hand you use. I believe the design is one of the safest ones out there (no nicked fingers or knuckles.) Overall, I'm wondering how I did without this for so long.

This peeler is the perfect size for my hand. It peels far better than any other vegetable peeler I have ever had. The blade is sharp and the shape of the handle gives me superior control. I would buy it again for sure. Highest recommendations!

Best peeler, easy to use, glides along nicely. So comfortable to hold. I have had may types but this by far is the best. It was rated #1 by the America's Test Kitchen.

I thought that my old peeler was fantastic that’s I’ve have for years but just broken. This puts it to shame it’s brilliant very very sharp. It peels wafer thin and no pressure needed at all just almost the light weight of the blade peels so easily. I’m temped you buy another for when and if this one every breaks. Really well made and worth every penny.
