These are the ones you need if you are installing a surface mount medicine cabinet. They give enough clearance to shed light where you need it. The only downside of these are the clear glass shade. I know they want a certain vintage look, but they are stupid big and of course clear. I don't like staring into an unshaded bulb first thing in the morning. It was easy enough to go to the big box hardware store and find a smaller frosted shade that looks good.

I love the quality and value you get with this fixture. It feels heavy and sturdy. The only problem we ran into, was the size of the glass. I would make sure you measure and take the drop down and size into consideration. It hung down too far in the hallway we had intended to put them in. We angled the glass up, and they look great and you don’t bump your head. Great fixture.
