The pieces all fit together like they were supposed to, except for the trim at the bottom. Turns out the two small pre-drilled holes for the left side mitered trim pieces at the bottom of the cabinet weren't quite exactly in the right place, which caused the front trim piece to not match up flush to the cabinet at that bottom left corner. The holes were only off about 1/8th inch, but that's a lot when it comes to trimwork which is a precision finishing touch. But once I diagnosed the problem, it was super easy to just make two new holes and get all the trim at the bottom to fit exactly right. Overall, I really like this bookcase, it's quite sturdy, seems to be of high quality, and it's gotten a lot of complements from my coworkers. The openings are just wide enough to hold legal folders, which I guess makes sense given the "Barrister Lane" name. As far as assembly, pay very close attention to the excellent instructions and especially the pictures of the 6 trimwork pieces as they're definitely not interchangeable from left to right, top to bottom. It took me about 4 hours and 2 adult beverages to assemble. I could have gone faster if I'd wanted to, but I wasn't in a hurry. Unless you're already in the construction industry, I do recommend wearing gloves for all the hand screwdriving you need to do. Your palms will thank you.

I bought two and they were not difficult to put together. In fact, I did the second one by myself. They look much nicer than their price lets on and are very sturdy. I shopped bookcases for months before finally deciding on these and have been very pleased with my choice. The only downside is that the exterior is a vinyl/laminate type overlay and could be nicked easily at the base if not careful. Would definitely recommend though!

When we first opened the box we realized three pieces were damaged. One phone call is all it took on how to fill out online what parts we needed. And you really get to talk to a real person! The replacement parts arrived but two of those we poorly packaged and we had to get more replacements on the way. Luckily, those arrived in good shape. Now, we are enjoying a pretty and sturdy bookcase.

Super cute. Good value for the money. Matches the other Sauder Salt Oak pieces we bought. It is pressed board. If you want something in solid wood, you will need to pay a lot more money for it. 2 people put it together in about an hour. Read the directions carefully and give yourself enough space to lay everything out & move it around a bit. Assembly went smoothly. My one small complaint is that the little file label holder things don't push in tightly enough so the labels themselves always fall out. I don't want to use adhesive because I may want to change the labels. So we will probably drill the holes a touch deeper so make them a bit tighter.

Love these book shelfs. We now have 3 of them and very well made.

Prior to purchase I read many reviews. Some said it was difficult to assemble, and I found the directions to be very detailed down to pictures and descriptions. It took about 1.5-2 hours to build, but it’s a quality piece of furniture. I needed my husband’s help to turn it over to put the back piece on, to stand it up and move into place, but for the price, the quality is spot on. Considering a second one to house more of my collection in.

My husband put this together in about an hour, and it's lovely. Sturdy and attractive andIlive the height. We have it in our son's room and it doesn't look out of place with the Ethan Allen bunk beds and dresser. I'm very pleased!

I put this in my walk in closet as my clothes dresser for socks, undies and such. Looks great and the compartments work extremely well for this. And very easy to assemble. Was not impressed with the cardboard back to it and it was a bit flimsy, but after attaching three 1" x 2" strips of wood along the back from top to bottom it is now extremely secure and stable and the back piece looks like wood. Should last quite a long time. I would purchase from this company again.
