Troxel Rebel Horseback Riding Helmet

I don't usually write reviews until Amazon notifies me it's time. This one I sought out. I've ridden horses my whole life. Landed on my head numerous times and still - too vain to wear a helmet. Several years ago I bought a helmet - wore it a couple times and stashed it away after glancing in the mirror. I looked like a giant alien beetle headed thing. I'd take my chances with getting my head caved in or brain injury ...stupid. A week a go I watched a friend get bucked off MY HORSE in front of me onto the pavement. As soon as I got home I went in search of low-profile helmets. From the product reviews and pictures, it didn't look to me like the helmets had changed much. Still, the image of ones head coming in contact with concrete at a rapid pace haunted me. I ordered the low-profile, Troxel Rebel. I figured better too look like a bobblehead now than risk sporting a drool-bib later. I plopped my new helmet on as soon as it arrived. No bobblehead! I don't look good in a hat, period...but this helmet looks no worse than a ball cap! It's super comfortable. I ran around the house with it on for half the morning before I remembered I still had it on! I'm actually looking forward to riding in this thing. I'll keep the old helmet in my "other trailer" in case I forget this one some time - but plan on buying another one of these to keep on hand. Note to non-helmet users: Don't let vanity get the best of you - nothing looks worse on a person than one to many concussions. Well done Troxel.

In my 50's, I have almost NEVER worn a helmet!! We western riders just did not grow up with helmets (they didn't have them, except for English riders back then). Plus, I have a super safe horse. After riding 40 years without a helmet, I moved my horse to a new barn, and found out AFTER that they have a helmet rule. I found this helmet here, so I got it. I am impressed. It is nothing like the old uncomfortable helmets of old. I forgot I had it on!

I really love this helmet. I replaced my old one because I fell off the horse and also protected my head. I decided to use and buy a different brand while I was searching for a new one and found this. I love the designed and it was so very well snug in my head. It doesn’t move even how active I am. I’m very satisfied with this helmet so happy I found this.

Troxel's new line of Western helmets are awesome. Instead of the dial-a-size knob on older helmets, it has an adjustable elastic strap for the back piece. Fits very securely, light weight, breathes very well, and has no issues with vision or hearing. I normally hate helmets, but this one I can wear and forget it's a helmet. I start thinking I've just got a ball cap on it's so comfortable and light. If you haven't liked Troxel's helmets in the past, I recommend trying this one out.

I have a bad habit of not wearing a helmet while riding. When I started a new job recently for an equestrian organization, I was told I had to wear a helmet if I was in the arena with a student or on a horse. However, I didn't want to use one of the shared helmets, never had lice, and I'm paranoid. I bought this off Amazon and absolutely love it! Very comfortable, fits my head perfectly and is really cool looking. I can't wait to use it! Wasn't available for prime shipping, but arrived in 3 days from this seller!

bought this for my nine year old daughter for her lessons and she adores it. It fit well, low profile and she has never once complained that it has been uncomfortable. It has never hung off her head or fallen off. she can wear her hair in a braid or down and it keeps her hair out of the way. The color and style is super classy and sporty. Think I will order one of these for myself when I get into riding.

I’ve been wearing Troxel helmets for 30+ years now & as a trainer & riding instructor, I recommend Troxel helmets to all of my lesson students. This one was purchased for one of my lesson kids as a birthday gift & she absolutely loves the dream catcher design!

I’ve had this helmet for about 9 months now and love it! Until I accidentally backed over it with my car... Even after being run over.. it’s obviously damaged but not nearly as bad as I would expect. I’ve already ordered another one identical to it.It’s not the most lightweight/ low profile helmet I’ve had but it does fit very well. My head is somewhat oval shaped so most helmets with the crank dial in the back are still wide on the sides of my head. This helmet fits great as it adjusts to fit your head from all sides. It also seems to be very sturdy considering it wasn’t flattened or completely broken in two when I drove over it. I am very happy with my purchase and happy to be getting a second one!
