YES - very impressive tester!!!
Does as advertised. I have to say it is worth the $15 (I go thru a ton of batteries). Tells you right away whether the battery is good, so-so, or shot (in 20% increments). For all you "rechargers" out there - there is a switch so you can check regular batteries OR rechargeable ones. It is also super SMALL, so you can take it ANYWHERE. Besides these notable features, the fact that the tester itself requires NO INTERNAL BATTERY of any kind, makes for a very simple, easy to use, and hassle-free tester! A definite GOOD BUY at the least (if not a GREAT BUY)!!! I'm loving it!!!!!PS - To ALL the folks who took the time to answer my Q on this item - a much heart-felt "THANK YOU!" And, for you looking here and wondering - this tester will NOT check the C / D / or button batteries. If it did, I would give this 6 Stars (maybe 10). Maybe they will have one in the future, who knows. But hey, I do go thru a heck of a lot of the tiny batteries for my household, so this is nice and tells me right away if they are any good, without wasting my time guessing!!!

Five Stars
Flimsy build quality. I have to turn the battery I am testing to get an accurate reading as the contact points don't alwats touch.

Simplistic compact battery charge indication
I'm giving it 5-stars because it works well.Since purchased, I like that I can quickly check batteries without getting the much larger size DMM.Traveling, I take radios, flashlights etc., and this is compact and easy to quickly check batteries.Primary - rechargeable switch is a nice feature to check which type battery you happen to be checking.I been using this tester and when pulling batteries from devices to check, it seems to accurately provide the state of charge. Low state of charge indication and the device ran short times - high state of indication and the device ran longer.Quick checks, easy, compact, affordable, primary/rechargeable selection switch, no battery needed for the tester itself, what more can I add - just works good. [can't say the same for a couple other little portable testers I tried] - so far I'm happy with this tester and it's going with me on a vacation trip in a couple weeks being on the road with various battery operated devices. The only thing its not going to work for is the 2 digital cameras but the cameras themselves provide state of battery charge indications. So for everything else using AA and 9v, this compact tester will be a much welcome piece to take along.

Not for all
Works for Duracell batteries but not the Costco Kirkland brand. Now sure why

This thing is the bomb.
I've needed a simple tester for years. I was so sick of having to fumble with my regular wired tester for little batteries. I should have bought this a long time ago. It will test regular or alkaline disposable and rechargeable NIMH batteries with the flip of a switch. A long sturdy ground prong accommodates AA and AAA batteries. Once inserted, if there is any charge left, all five lights will light up to show the tester is initiated. Wait a few seconds and each subsequent light will indicate a 20% charge: None for zero, one for 20%, two for 40%, three for 60%, four for 80% and all five for 100% charge. Piece of cake. I love this thing. Well made. Compact. Not much to go wrong. Get one.

Portable, easy to use, accurate and awesome!
Super easy to use and very small and portable. I have had a similar battery tester in the past and replaced it with this one when the old one finally wore out. I am a professional photographer and this charger is perfect, as it saves me money wasted from throwing away good batteries and saves me the space wasted from hanging onto dead ones.

Good product.
So far this product seems perfect. It's such a help to know what the status of a battery is. I had a bunch laying around that I didn't know whether to throw them out or not. Now I can test it and if it has zero power I throw it right out. Others I separateโ if there's a lot of power I save for my camera. Not much power I can still use in my remote.
