Great Flavor
I prefer the taste of it after it’s been fried and it only takes a few minutes to brown due to the sugar content. So, when cooking don’t walk away or you will burn it. It is on the sweet side but if you have ever had the pleasure of eating sizzling bacon (which I loved back in the day) it actually tastes kind of similar to that. It is very tasty. Just wish it was easier to find and didn’t cost so much.It did arrive in a paper bag but it was not damaged in any way. Would buy again if I could find it cheaper

Not what I thought but pretty good
I didn’t know what Tocino was I expected it to be hot but it was sweet. It’s kinda expensive for spam but it was good. I probably won’t buy it again tho

Sweet Salty and Savory
SPAM is one of those foods that you either like or hate - and I would be willing to bet for those of us that love it there is a strong emotional connection like eating it on the weekends as a young child with your family when there was more time to prepare and enjoy a big breakfast. Original SPAM is definitely a savory food with pleasant saltiness (although some may argue too much salt - so there is LITE or Reduced Sodium) making it similar in many ways to bacon, sausage, or even a ham steak and their respective food pairings. But the Tocino flavorings give it a subtle sweetness to balance the saltiness savouriness so it's a little less "aggressive" in its flavor profile and allows you to use it more ways. For example, I really find this to be superior in fried rice, gumbo soups or sauteed with vegetables (like broccoli and garlic). It reminds me of the sweet sausage you buy in the Asian supermarkets - just not as firm. I often eat thinly sliced SPAM from the can like spiced ham and the Tocino flavoring works nicely with a gouda, cheddar, and my favorite Havarti. When I do cook it, I pan fry it in a non-stick skillet with no water (as recommended) or oil. It takes a little longer than the original to get a good browning - but it's worth wait. Unfortunately, my local supermarket only carries Original, LITE, Bacon and Hickory - so I'm glad Amazon carries it. But why is it two to three times the cost of the other varieties? Regardless, I still buy it now and then - it makes me happy and reminds me of foods I've enjoyed with Filipino friends.

The easiest way to enjoy SPAM
I love SPAM but I don't like opening up an entire can when I just want a slice or two. These SPAM slices are perfect -- each slice is about the size of two slices you'd take from the canned meat, so you can cut a single serving SPAM slice into two "can sized" slices. The meat is just as good as it would be from the can, and there's substantially less gelatin and more meat so I'd say it's a better value. It's also lower in sodium. Not low sodium -- it's quite salty. But lower fat and lower sodium than regular SPAM but with the same great taste. To me it tastes just as good as original canned product.Overall this is probably the easiest way to enjoy SPAM. If you like SPAM but didn't like dealing with the can or having too much excess this is exactly what you want.

It must be an acquired taste
I don’t think it’s flavor was distinctive I thought it was bland and I will stick with regular spam but once again it is a matter of taste. It seems that my brother loves it!
