Patco5560/CLR436 5560 Removable Protective Film Tape: 4" x 36 yd., Clear

I bought this to put on my windowsills as I have a little parakeet that leaves behind droppings and he wanted to pick at the loose paint chips at the point where the wood meets the glass. I am very happy with this product. It looks good and it IS clear (not yellowed) and provides perfect protection for my needs. I am not worried about it damaging my windowsills as it has a very light tack and comes up easily if I need to make adjustments. I also have plenty of leftover product to find other uses for!

This protective film tape is exactly like what you peeled off the surface of your brand new cell phone, tablet, lap top, navigation device, except...it's THICKER. The clear version is not "crystal clear" but is easily seen through...so much so that the word translucent probably isn't fair. As can plainly be seen in the photo, the keypad numbers to my safe are clearly visable and protected due to the 5.5 mil thickness of the product. Protecting the keypad numbers from "friction wear" allowing a burglar to "decider" the numbers of the combination is the goal. My plan is to change the tape before a wear pattern becomes evident on the tape itself. The adhesive is NOT "static cling" but it' not gonna damage or leave residue behind.If you're trying to protect wood door thresholds, wood furniture edges or really small jewelry pieces this isn't your missing link...if your looking to protect glass, plastic, metal surfaces with an easily removable film...this is your pot of gold.

Worked great on a 1500 mile trip by catching bugs hitting the front edge of the hood. Peeled off easily when finished. Yes, I know that is what it is not designed for but I came up with this novel idea and it was perfect. Unless you looked close you did not know it was over the paint. It went through two heavy rain storms and stayed perfectly in place.

Purchased to stick to the inside of my my truck doors to protect from scratches from my two dog buddies who travel around with me and tend to scratch the doors at times. Stuff stick OK to the plastic portions but not at all to any other type of surface. Oh well, nice try.

this product is obviously listed as a tape, and not a film so that should be my own fault for thinking there was no adhesive involved instead of adhesion by static electricity like most other protective films. I would assume the product i was shipping got a little hot and left residue on the lenses, while it can be cleaned off it is annoying for the customer. Going to have to find a different solution for protecting the items i sell.

Useful stuff. It is clear. I have used it for screen protectors on devices. Cell phones probably won't work well with it. Any smooth surface that you want to protect and still look nice would benefit from this tape. Does not leave a residue when removed.

Seems good. I had a heck of a time finding this product. I didn’t even know what it was called. It’s nice for temporary protection for storage, moving and so on. If you leave it on an extended period of time it will leave residue so use your best judgement.

As a jeweler... I LOVE this tape. You can't find a better deal anywhere on the net. I know because I searched forever before deciding on this product. I use it to shield my handmade jewelry until it gets to it's destination. I've never had a single complaint of scratched products arriving in the mail. Quick shipment and fair prices!

I was expecting this tape to be very clear, however it is a slight bit cloudy. Other than this, it is what I expected.
