Dr Infrared Heater DR928 Music Heater with with AM/FM Radio

The controls are not smart. Setting the room and on/off temp controls is terrible. The mode button and arrow buttons act like a toggle switch between the room temp/set temp/high/low and auto settings and not a mode change switch. You may want to increase the room temp by a few degrees and it cycles through fan settings. That is very annoying. And be aware that a power outage or pushing the power on/off push button to off will clear the settings and you have to reenter them. However once you get it set this unit heats well, but keep the room closed up or your electric bill will skyrocket (.8 kilowatts on low/ 1.6 kilowatts on high (I measured it)). The radio won't receive weaker signals like in a the country so I can't say it is ok or not. The fan noise is like a low background hum even from a few feet away which is ok. Oscillation is like oscillating fan, much better than blowing straight out to heat the room. Cost is your cost per kilowatt times wattage, .8 or 1.6, times the amount of on time. Ex. fourteen cents per kilowatt TIMES 1.6 kilowatts per hour TIMES 10 hours of use per day equals .14 X 1.6 X 10 which equals $2.24 a day.

It's a very nice heater for the money. Works as good as the Duraflame tower that I bought for $50 more. Heats evenly. However, it was a little more difficult to get used to the controls. When you turn it on, press the power button, then mode button, the press and hold the temp up or down arrow and select the setting. We keep it between 64 and 66 in our room at night and it's perfect. Remote works well, also.

My house is small 1532 square foot 3 bedrooms 2 baths. I am located in mid west Tennessee. The winter storm came through temps drop to single digits highs in upper 20s. I only have 2 oil filled space heaters. Inside house temp dropped to 51 with all bedroom doors closed and both heaters in living room. Then this little power house arrived, inside temp 64 at 9 PM left the oil heaters on right where the were. Plugged in the Dr. Heater and the temp would climb 1 degree every 30 minutes. The temp reached 67 I opened the bathroom so it wouldn't be so cold when i took a shower in the morning.Morning 5:30 AM house temp 69 Dr.Heater was set to auto 72 the area around DR. Heater was 72. I open the 2 bedroom doors half way and went to work.8:30 PM house temp 76 !!! Its hot in here!!! opened bedroom doors all the way turned down the Oil heaters. This is a little powerhouse !!!!! I will order 1 more and retire the oil heaters. No make that 2 more going to build a shop.

Temperature setting is not user friendly it says set temperature 70 and after 73 it will stop the heater. I want default to 69 and it should stop same temp. Or set temp to 69 permanently. Overall I am happy with heater.

The actual heater/radio unit arrived in a timely manner. Works very well and am impressed with its overall operations. The only real complaint I have is with the remote control unit. It doesn't work without beating it to make it work and because the remote is essential to convenient operation of the heater it affects the overall rating down. Otherwise it is a very good heater.

This little heater does not warm up one 300 sq ft room, although they advertise 1000 sq ft. It only has one element (conveniently not advertised). I had a small ceramic heater that performs better than this one. Also, this thing runs up your energy bill trying to heat the one room. Truthfully, I need to get a refund. Sadly, it appears that most prior reviews were bogus! Very disappointing.
