I am a bit confused... I am ...
I am a bit confused... I am educating myself on GERD as of recent and just recd the book. I see recipes w/ heavy cream, soy sauce, mini marshmallows maple syrup, low fat ice cream etc. Aren't these things one w reflux should stay away from? (My doctor advised cutting our dairy and sugar). Feedback greatly appreciated! thanks

I just wasted my money
I just wasted my money. Does anyone really need a recipe for scrambled eggs? Rice pilaf? Chicken noodle soup? There's nothing appealing or innovative about any of the recipes. You can come with more creative recipes yourself. I made the butterscotch pudding and it was horrible. It's loaded with cornstarch and tastes like cornstarch and not much else. It also had a weird texture. Ugh! Don't waste your money, skip it!I made the mistake of buying two of her books. The other one is even worse.

Provides diverse options that are catered to those with sensitive stomachs
I have struggled finding recipes for my sensitive stomach and figured I would try making food from a cook book. I picked this because it was meant for GERD and that it said the recipes were easy (which to me means less time and less random ingredients). I appreciate the GERD reference material in the front, but you don't have to read it if you don't want to. I scrolled over several recipes and they are all pretty basic, but provided more diversity in food then I would be able to think of or search for on a recipe website (been stuck with plain chicken, rice, and vegetables for a while). Since the recipes are meant to avoid potential GERD triggers I was more willingly to try recipes how they were written. I just got done making and eating the veggie tacos and I am pretty impressed with how good they were and my stomach isn't killing me. So, it gets five stars from me. Hopefully the other recipes are just as good.

Misleading book title
The contents don't match the title. It is supposed to be a cook book of easy GERD-friendly recipes but a large number of the recipes are just regular food. The introduction gives helpful information on GERD. It seems the author tried to make the cookbook for people with combination situations - GERD plus Paleo, low carb, vegetarian, etc. And every recipe is well-marked for which of the eating protocols it fits. But considering that so many of the recipes are not for GERD, this would be better as a second book in one's quest for GERD friendly cooking, not primary.

`this book seems to try to make things almost like the spicy stuff that got us all here in ...
I haven't gotten into any of these recipes. I'd rather just eat more simply. Put some basil and ginger paste on salmon and broil- save the juices for an argula salad which goes with. Make soup with cilantro, coconut milk, basil leaves, and chicken broth- with some noodles of choice- done and yum.. `this book seems to try to make things almost like the spicy stuff that got us all here in the first place. I'd rather just learn to eat healthy, simple food (as in foos which is easy to cook in 20 minutes and not terribly expensive)/=.

Recipes look very tasty in The Easy Acid Reflux Cookbook with very good advice in the beginning of the book
Very well written pages before the recipes start. Lots of the recipes look very good and I will try them. I suffer from GERD and IBS and I like that she lists at the top of the page if these recipes are LOW FODMAP, Paleo, Gluten free, Alkaline, Low Carb, Vegetarian, or Vegan. The only drawback to this book is that she should have listed in the Index pages where to find those particular types of diets. I have to go through all the pages and write down all LOW FODMAP recipes for when I have episodes of gastroesophageal reflux (GERD). She has a nice list of things to have on hand in your pantry to make these recipes which I like a lot. I will start an elimination trial to see which foods are irritating my stomach first so that I can make more than the Low Fodmap recipes and Alkaline recipes. All in all, this book is worth whatever I paid for it.

Yummy Recipes
I'm a very picky eater, but I would/will be willing to try most of the recipes in this cookbook.I also like that each recipe shows if it's conducive to certain diets and lifestyles (ie...diabetes, paleo, vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free). There are even snacks and desserts.

It helps me cook foods good for me
I really use this book, to help me know what I should be eating and not be eating. It helps me cook foods good for me. I did not want to take the medicines prescribed for me, as they cause other problems. By using this book I can keep my eating to a standard that helps me.
