Men's Full Swing Relaxed Fit Ripstop Insulated Jacket

Quality/ fit perfectly, warm ,durable, and comfortable, the flex feature works well in a sitting position ( vehicle) the removable hood is a great feature, pocket inside zip for secure items, outside zip closure media/ phone pocket is secure and easily accessible, seems to be water/ rain resistant, I have not worn it in a pouring rain , and I did not buy it expecting it to perform like a rain coat. Overall extremely pleased with the coat.

This is a really well made and designed jacket, as expected from Carhartt. The Full Swing features are fantastic, the material seems really durable, and the DWR should last awhile as I don't plan to wash it too often. It should be great for working outside in the winter with wind, snow, or a light rain. As with most Carhartt jackets, I'm somewhere between a Medium and Large size at 6' 185 lbs with relatively broad shoulders, minimal gut. I ordered both a Medium and Large because there was a sale and I wanted to get the right-sized jacket at the sale price, and Amazon's free return shipping made that easy. With the Full Swing design, I could get away with a Medium and a snugger fit. But opted for the Large so I could fit quilted bib overalls and an extra layer or two underneath no problem. The big difference between the two sizes seemed to be almost entirely in the chest/torso measurements. I believe the Large had slightly wider shoulders and longer sleeves, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if they were the same and the extra width in the chest was all of the difference in perception in that regard. The jacket has a cinch cord at the bottom hem, so the extra room in the large can be cinched up to prevent wind coming up. But I also thought that the extra room in the large would help the jacket breath a bit better while working outside and help me not overheat. If you're on the fence about what size to get: order a size down if you want a snugger fit, order your normal size in other brands if you want room for layers. The Full Swing design will accommodate both while maintaining full range of motion and comfort. The hood is very large, but assuming that's to fit over a hard hat. It was equally large on both the Medium and Large sizes. The zipper was a little smaller than I was accustomed to with Carhartts in the past and it was not a double, but it was also much easier to zip up and down - and seems plenty durable.

I purchased this coat for my son for Christmas. He’s 24 yo, 6’2”, about 190lbs, and muscular on top but lean built. We ordered both a large and medium because he normally wears large in coats, jackets, suit, jackets, shirts, but the comments were making us wonder if a smaller size would work better for him. And it did. The medium fit him best because it allows him to wear a long sleeve shirt underneath and still be able to move and feel comfortable. He’s not one to wear a lot of layers and then a coat. He wants to wear one long sleeve shirt and a coat that can keep him warm. And so far after several weeks of wearing this coat, he says it’s very warm and he’s very happy with it.

I bought a medium, usually a large is a better fit. It is a roomy “full swing” coat which allows very good mobility, this one fits perfectly. I’m 5’9” 170 lbs with broad shoulders. I tried a large in a store and it was too big. The coat is very well made with “rip stop” material. I find this coat very warm and durable. I purchased the tarmac color which looks green or brown in different lighting. I’m really happy with this purchase.

Great for harsh winters, fits great, quality coat

Great jacket. Works well with my carhartt duck vest. I’m 6’3” and 250. I had a medium jacket for the longest time and it was getting tight around the shoulders (and everywhere else). I usually wear an xl but carhartt is always a size and a half large. It fit as expected because I know this. This is my new everyday jacket. It is warm (I live in Alaska so this is important to me), comfortable and not bad looking. But my goodness the hood is HUGE!!! My head disappears in it! If you are not wearing an hat it will cover your eyes and there is no way to fix it with the pull string. Otherwise 5 stars

I have light weight and heavy winter weight jackets. I wanted something to replace my only mid weight jacket. I am between a medium and a large. I've always found Carhartt stuff to run large. So I ordered the medium. The medium fits perfect for me. I will point out some things not mentioned in the description or reviews I read. I am cold natured so was concerned about the jacket being warm enough. I wore a mid weight sweat shirt underneath and went for a walk. Temp was mid 30's with a brisk breeze. Which was the conditions I bought the jacket for. I did not get cold. I expect the jacket would be fine to just below 30 degrees if you are not sitting. The jacket has ribbed knit cuffs inside the regular cuffs. I didn't see this mentioned but that's a huge plus for me. I'm 5'11 and wear 33 inch sleeves in a shirt. The sleeves were just slightly long. Fine for the purpose, but if you wear 32 inch sleeves in a shirt you might find the sleeves too long. That was a negative in some reviews. The shell is ripstop. But it's a very thick and dense ripstop. The material is thicker and stiffer than I expected. I didn't buy this for a work jacket. But it will no doubt take a lot of abuse. The jacket is also heavier than I expected due to the shell. Doesn't bother me but keep in mind if weight is an issue. The hood is well made and adjustable but I'm not using it unless it's snowing. The sleeves offer plenty of range of motion. I never feel like the jacket is getting tight across my back or chest. I bought the brownish color. And the color in the photo is accurate. I really like it. Not too brown. Not too khaki. I would buy the jacket again.

I purchased this for work. Seems very sturdy. Hook is a little big (front seems to droop over my eyes) although the flap can be flipped up/back to alleviate that. Lots of pockets. Pretty warm. I wouldn't go climbing Everest with it, but it was quite sufficient for my midwest winter.

best jacket I've ever owned. I was sick of wearing a hoodie and jacket on top. with this jacket I can wear a t shirt underneath and still be warm in the GTA winters. We just had a snow storm and days with -15c Windchill and I was comfortable. I am 6'2 average build, normally get a large but Medium is perfect for me. 2 Zip pockets by your heart(one inside and one outside of the jacket), one velcro one on the inside right side. The "hand" pockets in the front have a really nice and soft material which is warm and and amazing feeling sliding your hand in. These "hand" pockets are about 3 inch deep and holds stuff but i found that if you over load it with too much, it tends to fall out. The elastic on the arm is tight and doesn't let any air in while it has an outer wider layer that makes it comfy and lets you rotate your hand freely. Material is easy to keep clean, I just use a semi wet microfiber towel to wipe off any dirt before i get back in the work truck. Full swing makes it very comfortable and it looks professional as well. I can easy take the hood off and make it a "Detroit" style jacket for meetings etc.

Ich arbeite viel draußen bei wind und Wetter. Bis jetzt macht es einfach nur Spaß sie zu tragen. Wenn es richtig kalt wird, sollte man natürlich mehrere lagen darunter tragen, aber auch so ist sie wirklich wintertauglich und robust. Hervorzuheben ist sicher die swing Funktion, heißt beim bücken und greifen gibt es nichts was einen blockiert oder behindert im rückenbereich. Sehr empfehlen.

Es mi primera chamarra de la marca, el tamaño es justo por si quieres tener un suéter adicional por dentro, la he probado en temperaturas de -1 °C y hasta el momento todo bien, protege de la lluvia ligera, el agua pareciese no absorberse, la probare en estos días en -7 a -12 °C y espero que aun aguante. El único detalles son los cierres de la bolsa externa e interna que se complica un poco abrirlos. Feliz con la compra y se ve que va a durar muchos años.

Great Jacket. Fitted exceptionally well and looks good. Carhartt do seem to be more generous in sizing so needs to be taken into account. Very happy with the service and product.
