Zoo Med PowerSun UV Bulb 80 Watt

I have been using these powersun bulbs for my Russian tortoise the entire time I have had her. I have tried other brands but none perform as consistently. They are nice and bright, they last, maintain good UV output, keep it nice and hot in the basking spot. They are well worth the money and the best option I've found for the health of my pet.

I use these bulbs for my Red Earred sliders and also for my tortoise. They are long lasting and provide the UVA and UVB with the heat all in one. It is also what my vet recommended. The cost of these bulbs here is a great value because I pay $60 for one bulb at the petstore.

I was so excited to get this for my beardie, as soon as I got this light I switched my old bulb for this and just for good measure busted out the uv reader,, to my surprise it does not provide the (essential) uva/uvb- my card reader did not pick up not even a hint of it. Just to make sure I plugged back in my old bulb and used the card reader and it turned purple instantly! I was very upset. Had I not had my uv card reader and just switched the bulbs, my beardie would have contracted MBD, which is very serious and irreversible. I only bought this bulb because it was supposed to provide the most important. I took two photos to prove it didn’t supply uva/uvb!! My uv reader turns purple when uv is detected The first photo is of this product, you can clearly see the cards are white. The second photo is of my current uv bulb and you can see that uv reader has detected it. U.v is very crucial to my beardie it states on the box that it (provides essential uva/uvb that they need) on the box with a green star around it so you can read it! BUT IT DID NOT! I’m not sure if it was just this one bulb or not, but I payed almost fitty buxx for this and had it not been for my uv readers. My beardie could have contracted Mbd, one thing I do recommend is buying a uv reader so you can be sure your reptiles are really getting the (essential uv they need) instead of trusting what they put on the box!!!

Powersun definitely gives you the full spectrum that my Russian tortoise need. I’ve used them for years. Only complaint sometimes when it’s time to replace i cross my fingers its not defective. But if I do, Zoomed is very willing to provide an exchange.

My old bulb burn out and brought a replacement bulb but after a month my sulcata tortoise becoming very sick. My Vet recommended this bulb and so far so good it provide both heat and necessary sunlight.Will order this light for replacement every 6 months as recommended

This is the only bulb I will use for my bearded dragon she loves this bulb so if she loves it I love it to lol I highly recommend this for your Reptiles that need uvb and uva and heat!!

These bulbs are great for the health of your pet unfortunately sometimes they only last a few months. I called zoo med and they sent me another one at no charge.

Product arrived very quickly and was packed very securely to keep anything from breaking. Will definitely be ordering from them again.
