The Complete Peter Rabbit Library Box Set With 23 Volumes Hardcover – January 1, 2012

I wanted to get Peter Rabbit as an Easter gift for my 2 year old. But if I'm being honest, the book is more for me than her. These stories are way too long for a 2 year old, but I don't mind waiting until she's older. We have plenty of books that are perfect for her now, but she'll grow out of quickly. This is not one of those books. It's beautiful. It came with a hard case. It's a hardcover book, with thick pages and wonderful illustrations. I got it for $25, which is a steal.

I still have my book from when I was a child very worn as Grandma spent a lot of time reading the stories over and over night after night. I gave this book as a baby shower gift. She loved it!!Beautiful book came in a lovely box perfect condition! A+++++ seriously recommend!

I had a boxed set I used for our children and needed more sets for their homes when the grandkids started arriving. Amazon offered the best price and had the nicest box besides. I am a member of the Beatrix Potter Society, absolutely love reading these stories to the grandkids still. Precious memories. The Story of Beatrix Potter movie broadcast on PBS back in the early 1980s was the best, my inspiration for our home nursery, completed with full set of her books.

The Beatrix Potter tales reach so many levels in people of all ages. My son is reading the tales to his one year old who just loves the sound of a voice linking with the most magical illustrations, the rhythmic cadences of storytelling laying the best foundations for a future love of reading.To adults, the tales evoke their own magical memories of bedtime reading and family sharing and the tales are so delightful: animals who think and speak like humans, each with his or her own idiosyncrasies and characteristics. Ever child or adult has a favourite! Mine is Mrs Tiggywinkle, perhaps because the name is so comical or because hedgehogs were a common visitor to our garden in the countryside. And the idea that a hedgehog could don a crisp white apron and lay laundry on garden slopes, comes from a brilliant, creative mind. Beatrix Potter UNDERSTOOD and empathized with animal life. As for her drawings and paintings, they are exquisitely delicate and so wonderful in placing the full characters on the page. It us not surprising that so many children’s bedrooms are filled with images from the tales.I bought my first grandson the entire set in individual books. I love that I have been able to buy them all in one volume for my fourth grandchild whose father’s eyes lit up with the warmth of his own childhood memories.

I have always loved Beatrix Potter books but never had the whole set. Since I am reading a story of her life and when each book was written it will be more interesting to read all of them now. Lovely set so glad to have them
